The Coffee Mystery
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
It was a dark and gloomy morning when Anna woke up. "I am glad I don't have to go to work today," Anna thought, as she made her morning coffee. As Anna put sugar into her coffee mug, she noticed something was wrong. The sugar did not dissolve! Why?
Answer
Anna had forgotten to add boiling water to her coffee, therefore there was nothing for the sugar to dissolve into.

| I have to admit that if I had forgotten to add water to my coffee mug, I don't think "How odd; the sugar isn't dissolving" would be my first reaction. Fun teaser though; nice job! |

| It doesn't have to be boiling water, just water is enough to dissolve sugar. And who be stupid enough to be confused of his sugar not dissolving when he sees he didn't put water in. |

| to bigbanggoo. The teaser never states she added water of any sort, or that she was surprised that her sugar had not dissolved, only that she noticed something wrong, the question was why did the sugar not dissolve. The question and answer are sound.
