SMOOTH...!!
The official english dictionary says that dozens is another word for 12, which is not the word that we're supposed to be looking for.
That was good.
Mixee.
Mixee.
That was easy! But i still had 2 think about it. Good 1!
This was really fun
"Thirteen" also works. It only contains 6 letters; two of them are used twice. Subtract just one from thirteen and twelve remains.
I like your answer better!!
I like your answer better!!
I love it, and it's fun enough to share. Thanks
that was a good one
I thought it was twelven or something like that.LOL
Great job! I like that one.
Clever! I think I heard this one before.
That was good
Clever teaser. Thanks for posting.
Very good teaser
Saw this one in a magazine many years ago,but still catchy if you've never seen it.
very easy for a change. good one though
Easy Fun!
I thought the answer was 'thirteen'. It contains more than 6 letters, but contains 6 none the less. I think it would fit.
oops someone already said my idea. sorry
Easy, but clever. Enjoyed this one.
i thought we were allowed to rearrange the letters in the word... thus i came up with "zonked"... if you subtract the "k" and rearrange the letters you spell "dozen"... the true answer was absolutely clever nonetheless!!!

The answer could also be thirteen. Thirteen only has six letters in it (although 't' and 'e' are repeated).
Kept trying to add a letter to the middle of dozen. Then realized all it took was an 'S'. Doh!!!
Easy, but still a good teaser.
cool
that was one of my faves!!!

I'm impressed with the answer dogg6pound9 came up with. If it had been that hard I don't think I would have gotten it.
Thanks for the teaser.
Thanks for the teaser.
Very slick trick you got there!!
Way too easy! Hardly had to think.
I got his one, too! I liked this teaser! Happy December, every one! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
that was ezey and fun
Easy, but fun. I also liked the alternate answer of thirteen that was suggested above.
Lol i like that one
I liked the answers 'thirteen' and 'zonked' much better. I got to dozen right away but would never have gone to simply 's'. I saw zoned; wished I'd seen a 'k' in it! To me it belongs in trick instead of riddle.
Thirteen can't be an alternative because it contains more than six letters. I think "zonked" is great!
thirteen works. I think

Thirteen doesn't work. It has 8 letters. Also, how does removing one letter make it twelve?

People are suggesting thirteen works because there are only six different letters in it:
T= 1
H= 2
I = 3
R = 4
E = 5
N = 6
And the teaser does not say to remove a letter, most of us just read it to mean that. What it actually says is "Subtract just one..." if you subtract one from 13, you get 12.
(13-1=12)
T= 1
H= 2
I = 3
R = 4
E = 5
N = 6

C'mon Habs, you are better than that. Teaser states it has six letters and to remove one. Quite an easy teaser.
I'm gonna stick with Habs. His logic looks good.

Kind of surprised when solved that I was correct-seemed like it was easier than I expected-that's okay!!
Got this after a few minutes. I thought it was a good teaser. Why IS LGM laughing?
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser.
I loved this teaser - clever and fun! Thanks!
