bluetwo Aug 21, 2002	It's not accurate to say that Alaska is the easternmost state, just because it "stretches to the other side of the map." If you mean that it crosses 180degree longitude, you would be right by that interpretation. a more practical determinant would be the international date line, which alaska does NOT cross. therefore, it is the westermost and northernmost, but Maine would be the easternmost.
