Hard to See
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.
In forests I'm leafy
In deserts I'm like sand
You'll find it hard to see me
Even if I'm in your hand

| Maybe the wind works as an answer. In forests, the wind blows around leaves and could be desribed, thus, as leafy, and the same would be true of deserts and sand. And, of cause, you can't really see it.
I reckon you would be able to see pretty easily a chameleon if it was in your hand. |

| This is so wrong! It changes color. but is not leafy, nor is it sand. Of course you can easily see it in your hand as I have had one there many years ago when I was young and we wore them as you wear a broach nowdays on a teeny chain. Absolutely misleading teaser! |

| This was clever. For some reason, I didn't take the clues literally. I tried to think of what can change its appearance that drastically. The first thing that came to mind was a chameleon. |

| I am also wondering why I didn't think the right way this morning! But I liked it! |

| I also thought the wind fits nicely with the clues, e.g. leaves and sand blowing but you can't see it. |

| "Leafy" means covered in leaves - or having many leaves, etc. - not the same color as leaves. The "like-sand" isn;t terrible , but... and chameleons are not difficult to see when in your easy to see when in hand. |

| I thought it was light!
Light would shine through the trees in a 'leafy' fashion, look like sand in a desert, but not be that distinguishable on your hand. |
