| Majd-
Most people just make rebuses to get an extra 50 points, and put no thought into it. On the other hand, you put time and effort in to all of your rebuses. I usually hate reading rebuses, but when i read one of yours, on came better, and better, and better from you! Keep it up!!! |

| tHIS WAS great, different. I have never seen a rebus like this, Im new here, and so I didn't understand; I thought the words must stand for the pictures of those things, because I've only ever seen them with pictures and letters. But, I think this one was really cool, now that I know how to look at it. I hope you make some more just as good or better! And, I think your answer is the only one that completely fits, although the alternatives were close. |

| Cute teaser! I'm no computer genius, but I noticed that braingle changed it's look today and I'm guessing that some glitch occured during the change which caused the "this is offensive" deal to pop up for a while. They probably fixed it and that's why none of us late comers are seeing it. Just a thought |

Oct 13, 2008
| I would have done it like this:
NOSE
Your money goes here.
CHIN
Otherwise, it looks like, "Your money is where your mouth should be."
Or something. I don't know.
Oh well, good teaser! |
auntiesis
Oct 13, 2008
| Too easy, but clever. Thanks. |
davidrools
Oct 13, 2008
| I agree with FatHeat-there's nothing in the rebus to imply "put" and having "MOUTH" present would eliminate the "would be" vs "is." Still very clever but I would prefer better accuracy in a future version |
avonma
Oct 13, 2008
| I think it is a great rebus - "Put your money where your mouth is," came to me immediately. I can see how that other suggestion would also fit, but I didn't think of that.
Thanks! |
kp52
Oct 13, 2008
| I knew what it was. But I have no idea what it means to "put your money where your mouth is." good teaser though. |
srpwuzhere
Oct 13, 2008
| lol that was so easy.
Put your money where your mouth is, by the way, means to be quiet.
Just to let people know who don't. |
bradon182001
Oct 14, 2008
| I for one didn't get it and I'm usually pretty good with rebus teasers. I liked this one when I read the answer, makes as much sense as most rebus puzzles. Thanks for posting. |

Oct 17, 2011
| When I first saw it I jokingly said,"put your money where you mouth is", and then I said, "no, that can't be it," and tried to figure something else out, but never could. " Got mad at myself when I read the answer and realized I had it and did not know!! |
lukasiwicz
Oct 17, 2011
| No, "Put your money where your mouth is" doesn't exactly mean "Be quiet." It is an exhortation to provide monetary support to some cause you believe in, instead of simply talking about how much you support the cause. But I concede that it does suggest that rather than merely talking, one should perhaps simply shut up and take substantive, nonverbal action, usually in the form of providing cash. "Less talk, more action" is the general sense of the idiom. |

| AWOR. The editors really had to blow the dust off the old files to find this one again. a to you know who. |
wordmama
Oct 17, 2011
| I, for one, am glad they dusted off the files, as I'd never seen it before.
As a solver who almost never gets rebuses, I was very happy to get this at the very first look! As for its meaning, it may have morphed into 'contribute' these days, but I'm pretty sure that originally it meant to back up your blow-hard opinion with a bet to show how confident you are in that opinion! |
