Sand
Why would insurance companies be interested in sand at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico?
Hint
Think about weather patterns.Answer
The layers of sand tell when a hurricane will hit. There is a pattern to the layers. Every 300 years or so, there is a category 5 hurricane. Insurance companies can use that theory to increase their warning for homes that are around that area.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

no ofense but this teaser was awful
um, i work for a major insurance company and we quite frankly, would not bother to do things so miniscule...
god, this teaser is so stupid, it's not even funny! your probably heard this in your science class! then you said, well, i just heard mrs. sullivan say that, so i think that i'll make it into a teaser!
by the way, i'm maxmars's brother.
you should know one when you see one
I think this actually shows some promise, but it should have been started differently. If insurence companies cared about that, they'd be racing all over the world.

No offense, but this is more trivia. Also, it might help if the answer is shorter than the question. Not necessarily just this one, but in general
