wow! this was made six years ago?!? I like rebus teasers! especially ones that I can puzzle out! good job!
Good teaser. Hard to believe that this goes back to 1992 and it is only being picked now. I think this was one of the better rebus efforts I've seen. Good job. Thanks for posting.
Correction: I did mean this goes back to 2002. Sorry for typo and double post.

Nice one...I figured out the "occasion" pretty easily, but couldn't get the "rising two" part.
Ditto here. Got "the occation" but had "double" stuck in my head and never made the jump to "two"! (not to be confused with tutu! )
Oh! I get both two and occasion! There are 2 letters in each line and it spells the occasion!
awww...
Got it!
That was fun! Thanks!
That was fun! Thanks!
missed it.
I got the occasion, but lost it after that. Pretty good teaser. Thanks.
I got it right!

I guessed "Up to the occasion". Close, but I did think it was an unusual phrase... Rising makes much more sense.
AANNOOTTHHEERR RREEPPEEAATT
To me, it said Up to the occasion.
Rebuses are not my favorite, but...
Rebuses are not my favorite, but...
I hardly ever get rebuses, so I was thrilled that this one jumped right out at me!!
Doehead, if this hadn't been repeated, I would have been denied this pleasure!! Please stop being so angry about repeats; you're not the only person on this site!!!

My daily email presents the teasers in plain text format, so all the letters were lateral, not vertical, so I came up with "back to the occasion." I guess it works, but not quite as well as intended!
I thought it was like
"Double Down Noisaccoeht."
"Double Down Noisaccoeht."
Sorry, I did not like it at all. Extra words added that are not a part of the teaser. Rising occasion fits but where do you find the "to the" anyplace on the page? It is just slipped in there.
"Rising to the"
(two are rising)
Requires a bit of an "intuitive leap" to get there, but that's part of the magic of rebus problem-solving;
Using the brain in new and different ways.

I didn't get this one. Thanks for posting!
If, however, one wishes to "make a case" against this teaser, about the only thing wrong with it is the improper (according to the new REVISED rules of Braingle) use of pluralisation.
This teaser ACTUALLY reads;
"rising to the occasionS" and NOT "rising to the occasion".
Another example of this "rule change" is teaser #4871, submitted also in 2002:
MUCH SOON
MUCH SOON
Answer is given as "too much too soon" when, actually (according to Braingle) the answer should be;
"too much's too soon's" which, of course, is NOT a "common expression" and, therefore, not rebus-material.
I know this because I recently submitted one (showing ... uu .... ) with the answer as "here's to you" and it was rejected because - again, according to the Braingle editors - the translation was actually "here's to you's" - NOT a "common expression".
PLEASE ... do not misunderstand this and PLEASE do not hit the "this is offensive" button.
The editors are who they are. And, if they say something IS or IS NOT, then we submitters must abide by those rules - like it or not.
Thank you.

I got "Up to the occasion".
I guessed too quickly "On more than one occasion," Good one!
S---, He's back.
Yes, Mr. Doodles.
Actually, I never "left". I just have not been posting comments, as part of the beta-test to determine;
01. Whether my presence had any affect on number/quality of comments, and
02. Overall frequency of comments compared historically.
Some very interesting results are coming out, which I will share at appropriate times.
Have a nice day.

Fun, something very satisfying about making your brain have to work early in the morning........and being successful at it, too.
OOPS, I thought he left. I'm out of here again. I'll be back if BB leaves.
I got the occasion twice, but could not get the answer.
The editors really should make the rules clear and quit changing them (if that is in fact happening).
Cutebug - I doubt he will ever leave, at least not on his own accord. He won't go until he is forced out. I think he, like all internet trolls, delights in aggravating others on the site.
The more he is acknowledged, the happier he is. He obviously has no life, no job and no friends, this is how he amuses himself.
I have stayed away exactly for this reason. And I was under no illusion that he was gone - I knew he was lurking in the background just waiting to show himself once we were all lulled into a false hope.
This will be my last comment... It may even be my last visit. Tere are other puzzle and game sites out there.

YYURYYUB Please do not leave. I will miss you! I know you are correct in the fact he gets off on everybody commenting on him. This is what he needs to keep going. It is like a drowning man reaching for a life jacket. He is a sick person! I quit responding to him or even reading his comments. That is what we all need to do instead of needling him into commenting back. When you see his BB2 just skip over it and pretend like he does not exist. Don't let him win. He thrives on everybody's remarks. Please do not let him win!!
Thanks Babe, I do enjoy this site and would miss it terribly were I to leave.
You are right, if we (any of us) quit, then he wins. Wins what? I don't really know, but why should we let one bad apple spoil it for us?
I don't understand his motivation or what hs end game is, but he can play all he wants, if we all ignore him entirely, maybe he'll get tired of playing alone and take his ball and go home like the snot nosed little brat he is.

Realizing that I'mtired of this drama, I will no longer be commenting On teasers any longer. Bb02 is to be blamed for this. Feel Free to private message me As long as you are notBb02 . And as a personal public message to Bb02, " I HAVE NO DESIRE TO BE IN YOUR PRIVATE BRANGLE SIDE CLUB." Thnx ya'll!
Well said YY & BABE
Glad to see I'm not the only one who found BB02's comments annoying. And too much of the time they seemed to me to be pointless.
God, could you imagine dealing with him in person?
Hey, HABS2933 - my cat loves me !!

I'm going to sign off, here, and this will likely be the last of any comments for the day.
I'm doing only what I was doing from the beginning and all along ....
... pointing out that visitorship/viewership to Braingle is declining. I would hate to see the demise of Braingle because its membership continued to remain blinded to that in the "chase" for a scapegoat ...
... me, maybe? ....
Just look back here, today, in this TOTD thread ... at the hatred directed at me and the total avoidance of the salient issue.
lukasiwicz earlier used the term "annoyance" to describe my behaviour.
That's very interesting. It's the same term used by Jake (owner/operator of this site) when his "software" put me on probation by reducing my "Karmas" from three positive to one negative.
"annoying" ... NOT "offensive"
And my mentioning it will probably cost me the remainder of my stay.
So be it ... I've stuck to my guns and stated my case.
I think it was not my comments that you found annoying.
I think it was the truth that you found so.

Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I love rebuses and I got it immediately.
To YY, Babe, HABS, & doodles ....
Look who's still here. And look who just posted the last two NEW teasers.

I also got up to the occasion. I am proud of myself for getting that close. I am not very good at most of these yet. I thought this was a good rebus.
That one went right over my head! But that's not surprising. Good teaser!
