For each of the pairs of words below, insert a word in the blank space between them to form two separate words such that the inserted word finishes the first word and begins the second. For example, given "MAN ____ ON", you would insert the word "GO" to form "MANGO" and "GOON". The hint gives the number of letters in each of the words that must be inserted.

WIN ____ HERE
DISC ____ AGE
TEN ____ OR
ANT ____ LOCK
SIN ____ SHIP

Yes, Glenbo, if you were to "discuss" this teaser that is how you would spell the word, but if you were in the Olympics you might be throwing a "discus".

I really liked this one. BTW, Glenbo: Your spelling is fine, but your vocabulary needs some work.

Did anyone else insert "OVER" between "DISC" and "AGE" to give "DISCOVER" and "OVERAGE"?

I'm not too swift when it comes to this sort of teaser, so even after looking at the hint I still didn't get any.

Wow Glenbo... just.. well, just wow.

Nice teaser.. I got the first one in a few seconds, and the rest stumped me!

You could add "OUR" in between DISC and AGE to get Discourage, but that's not what the question was asking ^_^

Never knew kingship was a word

Heh... OVER would definitely work for that one, though..

I thought that TenThOr.. ah well.

I thought as Amberwind did. I had "over" in mind for number 2 -- it does work -- so I was surprised when I saw the answer. I don't know that I ever would have come up with "us." "Over" just sprang to mind too quickly.

"Winnow means "to blow away (chaff) from grain."

I did think of OVER for Discover and Overage.

For those wanting to know how winnowing is done, here is a link to a picture, I found on Google:
