Brain Teasers
The River
Two people come to a river. There is a boat, however it can carry one person only. How can they each get to the other side of the river using the boat?
Answer
They are on opposite sides of the river (nowhere does it say that they come to the river together!).One simply uses the boat to cross the river and the other person gets into the boat and takes it back to where it started.

Good one. I was thinking of using a rope to pull it back but of course there was no rope listed.
One of them could swim across (it doesn't say they MUST use the boat).
It doesn't say the water was deep either. They could both have dragg it across. Good one thought.
i was thinking the river was only eight feet wide, thus using an eight foot boat. They simply walked across using the boat
Actually it does say that you must use the boat, it says "...using the boat..." and you can't imply anything else what is not already given in the teaser
I liked it. I thought that one would row to the other side then row back. Then the other one would row to the other side. They both got to the other side. It doesn't say they have to stay there!

Cute!
pffft! they seem to be getting more and more far fetched!
I liked it!
i thought the river may be rather narrow and they could sort of jump across but since it mentioned that the use of boat is a must, they could leave the boat in the center and jump to the boat and to the other side... thats still using the boat but this is after all a trick question
First, good teaser. It actually is a logic teaser, since there is no 'trick', no play on words, no misdirection. There really is a legitimate solution. Treating it as a trick teaser, though, I figured the river was not that wide and that the boat was used as a bridge. Still a good one.
yeah i used the boat as a bridge as well
I thought they just waded.
The real answer is better though.
The real answer is better though.
I said"they used the bridge"
Not another 'there on the opposite bank I'll be' teaser...still fun.
they could have swam!
Nice job! Got me on this one!
EVIL (but seriously FUN) Teaser
Very original teaser to me! It was easy (For me) but fun!
Also, he/she said "Using the boat."
So, you couldn't of swam or used the nearby bridge.

Lame.

I first thought the same as another, they didn't have to stay there, but realized the "trick" part would be arriving from opposite sides.
Another old but easy one.
I pictured 1 of them rowing with the other one hanging onto the boat. Very interesting.
Using the boat...I took it apart and made a plank bridge and we walked across the river.
Well, zangel and singcan are both right on that.
fun.
I thought that one of them would swim, or the river would be shallow andthey'd walk, or so narrow that they'd jump, but I'm happy with the answer.
I thought they'd use a rope attached to the boat. When the first had crossed the second would pull the boat back with the rope & then cross the river. The true answer was more lateral than that! Nice quiz, thanks.
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That one is almost as old as I am!
Surprised more people had not heard it before!.
Surprised more people had not heard it before!.
Since the boat is only able to "hold" one, and they have to use the boat to get across, I decided that one could sit in the boat and row while the other could hold onto the back of the boat and be towed across. (Just so I'm not the one who has to do the rowing!) Cute teaser!!
Way to many options for this question.
I actually thought the same thing as thecatladycac
simple
I thought it might be "walk over a bridge" because it doesn't say there isn't a bridge. Or it could have been "walk over the frozen river" because doesn't say the river isn't frozen.
B.S, if you disguise the factsd. it is a BULL**** teaser
@tripleteam5 I think this was a very cleverly disguised fact. If the answer had been "Talk to the aliens that were landing nearby just at that time, and ask them to use their superior engineering skills to reinforce the boat to be able to hold two people," you would have a point.
Very sneaky, but there were too many options, using the boat?
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser. I got this one very quickly.
Agree with way too many options. The boat can only carry one person, but the other person could hold onto the boat as the one in it rows or does whatever to get to the other side.
