Don't you mean boarders?
I thought it was a gingerbread house!
i thought it was a pack of jawbreakers.
You make hard teasers!
That was a clever one! I even bought a bag of shelled peanuts recently! Hope Thursday is a great day, friends!
PS it's 1:24 am EDT - I was just hanging around waiting for the teaser to show up in my email!
I did not solve it, but knew it had something to do with eating. First I thought of a kids meal at Mc Donalds LOL
Good teaser! Enjoyed trying to figure it out.

Hahaha of course it had to do with food it does say eat the boarders. Great teaser!
I eat the whole peanut, shell and all.
I thought corn on the cob at first but then the 1, 2, or 3 boarders portion didn't fit. A pea pod would also fit.
There is another valid answer - an egg shell.
It's a house usually with 2 boarders - albumin (the white) and the yolk, sometimes the yolk is missing [1 occupant] (really), and from time to time you find one with two yolks [3].
You break the shell, eat the inside, and toss away the shell.
=) have a great day! (=

Years ago I bought peanuts in A&P Supermarket, and this was written on the back of the bags.So I knew it right away. A to my beautiful lady friends!!!
Good one. I kept trying to think of a fruit and couldn't come up with on that fit the bill. Great teaser!
I might be nuts (pun not originally intended!) but isn't the listed answer, peanut, incorrect?? It's the SHELL you throw away, not the peanut, yes?
Technically, you are a Peanut Shell". "Throw away me"
You got me! I thought of a Gingerbread House!
I got a raw egg as well. If you routinely buy Xlarge eggs, they are normally double yolks. I never found a triplet one though so peanuts works better.
Wordmama and asupmdr, there is such a thing as overthinking these riddles.
Sorry to have to disagree, but I don't think that's 'over-thinking'; I think that's a significant boo-boo. I don't blame a submitter for a lapse; I blame the ones who don't catch it before posting.
Good teaser! I have to admit that the only reason I got it was that two nights ago my family was eating at one of those restaurants that serves you peanuts and lets you drop the shells on the floor. Kinda gross but fun!
Thanks for the wink honey. I didn't get the teaser, but I never eat shelled peanuts even though I loved them as a kid.
I have to agree whole heartedly with asumpmdr and wordmama!! It is the shell you throw away, NOT the peanut. That is what threw me off. I was looking for food you throw away. Sorry, but the answer is wrong. It is NOT overthinking!!
*slaps forehead* I read boarders but thought borders. I said gingerbread house.
Well I'm back now that BB02 is finally gone. As for the teaser - it was very nutty.
Welcome back Cutebug.
Loved the riddle and, as always, loved the comments even more. Nice welcome, Doodles!
Fun riddle, but I was at a loss.
I was stuck with sandwich...then ice cream cone....but there wasn't much of the throwing away part unless you consider wrappers....I liked it, though!
I got this one as soon as I read it, due to a funny coincidence. (At least I think it is funny ) Thanks to Hurricane Irma, the family of squirrels who were living in the mango tree in my back yard (which Irma knocked over) were looking for food. It just so happened that I went to the store and bought 3 pounds of unshelled raw peanuts! As I was sitting here on the patio, I had clues right in front of me! q
That teaser was a bit of fun, but I was also stuck on gingerbread house. I knew it was an easy food, I just couldn't think of it! I like the concept of egg and eggshell! But for everyone that is complaining about peanut vs peanut shell - when you see a shelled peanut do you say, "oh look it's shelled peanuts!" or do you say,
"peanuts!"
"peanuts!"
Surprised I got the answer so quickly
I think the correct answer is "a peanut shell," not "a peanut"
Fun and entertaining teaser; I got it very quickly.
