What are the next three numbers in this series?
0, 0, 4, 18, 48, 100, 180, 294, 448, ?, ?, ?, ...
0, 0, 4, 18, 48, 100, 180, 294, 448, ?, ?, ?, ...
Hint
Are you squared off?Answer
648, 900, 1210.The number cubed, minus its square. For example,
9^3=729.
9^2=81.
729-81=648.
I used the numbers 0-8, you had to solve 9, 10 and 11.

No offense, but i have no patience with number puzzles and this one was quite hard, just one of those i felt i would never get without the answer
I agree.. I probably wouldn't have been able to get it, even though I'm quite familar with the the squares and cubes of those numbers... other people didn't think it was hard though..
Remember, if you don't like numbers, don't come here .. ;-D

easy!
The hint gives it away!
Stumped me...even after the hint. I knew it had something to do with squares though
It happens. Especially to me. Lol, it's really annoying when it clearly has to do with exponents, but you don't know what, exactly. Even if you know both the cubes and squares of those numbers, what are the odds your brain will automatically see the connection between them... you've gotta actually take the time to try to figure it out, and there are so many possibilities.. lol
Anyways, this teasers rating is starting to bother me.. it's not nearly this fun. I think I'm going to rate it a 0/3 lol.

That should be Math.
I found a totally different way to do it...that worked too. probably far more complicated and long winded, but it is funny how it still worked!! I didn't use the hint, and that is probably why i did it so differently. i basically found the difference between the numbers, then the difference between those etc...and the 3rd lot of differences was a common number, and hey presto, i had an answer! good one tho...really made me think!
Good teaser! I solved it slightly differently than the method you suggested, though. I noticed that the difference between consecutive numbers increased at a steady rate: 0,4,14,30,52,80,114,154. So the next 3 differences had to be 200,252,310 making the answer to the original series 648,900,1210.

Haaaaarrrrrddddddd!!!!!!!
I solved it the same way as you, Tan.
Another crappy Omega teaser. Oh, and the word you were looking for, Omega, is "its", not "it's." I thought a grammar guru like yourself would get this right.

Heh, coming from someone who's only teaser was completely retarded, that holds little water ^_^
