The Notes
Mystery teasers are little stories where you need to figure out what happened based on the given clues.
Detective Brown reviewed the information they had on the case so far. A lady was found shot and they already had a list of suspects - John, Mark, Sarah, Henry, and Carol. Plus, there were five notes that were found that were from the killer. The first was found in a supply room. The second was found in an art studio. The third was in a restroom, the fourth in an animal shelter, and the fifth at the harbor. All of the notes read the same thing, "The clues are where you find the notes." Yet, nothing was found at anyplace the notes were.
Taking one more look at all the clues, Detective Brown immediately solved the case.
Who did it?

Answer
Sarah.
The notes said that the clues were where you found them. From this, you could put the places where you found the notes in order, like this:
Supply Room
Art Studio
Restroom
Animal Shelter
Harbor
Then, if you read the first letter in each of the locations, you get SARAH.

| This is such a common scenario in brain teasers, but I just HAVE to wonder: What kind of killer leaves clues that reveal their identity??
Calling cards perhaps, but actual clues? That just seems silly. |

| It was easy, but fun. I liked how you had five suspects. Someone who has no idea about the acronym could spend ages trying to figure out who did it, only to find that the answer is in the question. |

| If only the killers would be idiotic enough to that in real life, then life would be a lot happier. Nice riddle! Easy but aren't the ones you can figure out the answer to the fun ones?? |

| why on earth would she write notes saying who she was? i have no clue why any killer would leave evidence plainly stating who they were... ON PURPOSE! |

| That's assuming she wants to get away with it. Sarah could have a death wish, want the fame that comes by being an accused murderess, be insane... she might ven have a foolproof alibi so that she can take advantage of double jeopardy. Leaving the notes looks stupid but it could be really smart. |
