A light-year is the distance that light travels in a year. How many light-years are we away from the nearest star?

Answer

About 8 light-minutes (or 8/526,000th of a light-year) since the nearest star is our own Sun. The second nearest star is about 4.2 light-years away or 25 trillion miles.

Zero. The question was how many light years, the implication being that it is at least 2. Maybe instead just say, "How far..."
