Using the SOUNDS of the following words or pairs of words, which one of the four W word/word couples do not belong?

1. Wired
2. We, Duct
3. Whittle
4. We, Essence

Word couple Number 2 does not belong because phonetically speaking, all of the other words/word-groups can be used along with ACQ to form new words as demonstrated below:

When you separate ACQ from the following words, you have a 'W' sound left. (PHONETICALLY)

1. ACQ+ 'Wired' (UIRED) = ACQUIRED

3. ACQ+ 'Whittle' (UITTAL) = ACQUITTAL

2. AQUEDUCT would be AQ+ We + Duct.

AQUEDUCT is the only word that begins with AQU instead of ACQ like the others, thus not fitting in with the rest of the group.
