Mass Murder
Trivia brain teasers have some element of trivia in them, but they are not just pure trivia questions.
There have been many cases of mass murder, both real and recorded in books.
Who is credited with killing one quarter of the earth's population, and where can this be found recorded?
Answer
In the Bible, Cain killed his brother Abel at a time where the population consisted of only them and their parents, Adam and Eve.

| Leaving Cain and his mother and father. So where did the rest of us all come from? Perhaps there were other people who were not recorded in this story. |

| this is complete nonsence because none of this is true...it is based on religions, only. i could have never guessed that, and i've no idea what that whole thing is anyway.

| It said who was "credited" not who actually did it. And the fact that you wouldnt have known that is the reason its in trivia. Nice teaser |

| Also, because it said "credited" it does not mean that it was true or false- just that someone said he killed 1/4 of the population. So the teaser works very well: Cain was credited with killing one of four humans, and it is recorded in the Old Testament.
I liked the teaser, but it might be considerate to note that it was the Torah (Old Testament) that recorded the event. |

| Need to do better reading in the bible. There were actually more than 4 people at the time cain killed able. Read all of genesis. Yes your sunday school teachers taught you wrong. I bet they also told you that animals went on the ark 2 by 2- wrong, only unclean animals went on two by two clean went on in pairs of 7 along with birds. And Jonah was not swalled by a whale, a whale is a mammal jonah was swallowed by a big fish. No wonder there are so many misconceptions of the bible. People tell it wrong. |

| Do I dare say ... I don't want to cause a stir but when someone says 'thunder stick' we know it's not really thunder, but a gun of some sort... so if someone says 'big fish' it could have been an uneducated person talking about a whale. The trick got me, and if someone doesn't get that when there are only 4 people on the earth, it wasn't recent...but shortly after creation. Even those who don't believe in creation usually know ABOUT it, or what someone else has told them. |

| you fooled me... then again, the riddle is WAY off. I do give you gredit for creativity, however there was clearly more than 4 people on the earth.Think about it, after God sent cain away, he got married.Use a little logic, do you think she just randomly appered?
im glad that i wasent the first to knotice this eror . |

| I despair sometimes if you used a little logic then the whole Bible is bunkham, but that would be missing the whole point of the teaser. But i suppose I will still take any Gredit thats going |

| Hey, username, it is not complete nonsense, religion is where we actually believe something is true, and if it was, it would not be complete nonsense. I find your comment offensive. |

| Funny how 'username' says it's all nonsence..but then admits he doesn't know what it's all about anyway... ignorance turly is bliss huh?
And as for the comment about 'where we all came from' .. as I recall.. MUCH later the world was flooded and only ones left were Noah and his FAMILY.. so technically we came from there.. but then how do we have so many cultures and races and such.. I think there was (if I recall) some sort of 'punishment' from God that sent different ppl to different areas of the known world and made them start speaking differently. I'm sure what we now know as incest had to have happened at some point..but I don't know all the details..
Maybe that will spark someone (more motivated than I) to learn more on the subject. And just because some ppl don't believe the same thing than the person that created this teaser... doesn't mean it's 'Nonsence'... just not what they believe. IT'S O...K to believe different things.. that's what makes us all beautifuly different individuals
HAVE A NICE DAY! |

| Clever teaser. I think it is accurate because of the way the teaser is worded. |

| "Username" got one thing right: the nonsense part. If there were only four at the time, what could Cain have meant when he said, "every one that findeth me shall slay me" (Gen. 4:14)? Therefore it is suggested by some that Adam and Eve had many more children than Cain, Abel, and Seth, some of which lived to see their brother murdered, making Abel a lot smaller than 1/4 of the world's human population at the time. |
