he would also make you sleep with the fish lol
Very creative puzzle. I came up with couGH, Odium, and terTIary. I think that gives you FISH as well.

Very cool! I never would have thought of that.
This Iheard 20+ years ago!
I heard this one before but it's still a great teaser
Great, tough teaser ... I would recommend rephrasing it to say it "could" be broken down phonetically to sound like "fish." You wouldn't technically break down "GHOTI" phonetically that way.
love it. that is SO cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very clever and witty thanks for the cool teaser
I dont know how you get that "O" in women sounds like 'I" It doesnt with me, or the few women I asked. Still found the puzzle interesting, but didnt agree.

well by the same token, the word "cozy" could be spelt Chthwdzhae
I heard this one in middle school! And I could be wrong, but I think there's a Christian band named that...
I thought it was completely random. There were so many ossible ways one could have split up GHOTI.
*possible
I think when people put teasers in that are not original, they should state the source. This is not a creative teaser, but a simplification of a widely known puzzle which asks the reader to work out what 4-letter word "ghoti" spells!
"Ghoti" is often attributed to G.B. Shaw (1856-1950). In addition to his essays, plays and novels, he promoted reform of the English language.
Readers might also be interested to try another (less famous) example of this - "Ghoughpteighbteau" as an alternative spelling of ******!!
Clue: Like the "ghoti", it's also found below ground level and popularly eaten, fried with ghoti!
[I'll come back next year to see if anyone has worked it out.]

Potato. I love this one - oddities of language always make me smile.
