Mr. C. was telling a story to his class. '' We sent a robot probe to Venus. Recently, it sent back data that it found an odd solution on the planet. It is an aqueous solution, with a solute of salt. What is your response to this?'' One student responded '' Mr. C., either you're misinformed, or we need to fix that probe.''

Why did the student say this?

The student knew that there could not have been an aqueous solution on Venus. An aqueous solution has a solvent of water. Liquid water is not found on Venus, only on Earth.
