Dog Show
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
There is a dog show in New York City. There is a big labrador, a pit bull and a chihuahua. The winner of the dog show gets a big mystery prize. 10 minutes before the show, the prize is stolen by one of the dogs. The pit bull says, "I'm a guard dog. It's not my nature to steal!" The labrador says, "I'm way too big. I'd be spotted in an instant!" The chihuahua says, "I'm way too small! There is no way that huge crystal food dish will fit in my mouth!" Before the dog show, one of the dogs was punished harshly and disqualified for theft.
Who did it and how do they know?

The chihuahua did it. The prize was a mystery prize. There is no way he could have known it was a crystal food dish.
