The ConfessionSituation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
A woman was found dead in her bedroom by her husband. Apparently, she had committed suicide by using her husband's gun. She had recorded her last moments, along with a confession to her suicide. After the police listened to the tape, they immediately arrested her husband for murder. How did they know he did it?
AnswerOn the tape, the police heard the woman's confession followed by a gun shot. This was immediately followed by the sound of the tape recorder being stopped. Obviously, if the woman had shot herself, she wouldn't have been able to stop the tape recorder!Hide What Next?
