Actually, the answer is 50 (Fifty)

The Pentagon is made of five separate pentagon shaped buildings, each inside the other. And each having a street side exterior wall and a courtyard side exterior wall. Each pentagon shaped building has a total of 10 exterior walls and there are 5 buildings so you have 50 exterior walls.

mad-ade May 01, 2002	surely an outside wall, regardless of how many corners it has is still only one wall as it encircles a building. it is a continuous wall, not several seperate walls.

Each side of the pentagon has 2 corridors, these 10 corridors each have 8 outside walls (facing the spaces between the "rings"), and they also intersect (and divide) the "rings" themselves, giving a total of 210 exterior walls, minus the closed-off partitions (you'll have to Google-Image search for that one )
