Clever Jenny IX
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
Jenny had been on her feet all day at work and was worn out. All she could think of was getting home and putting her feet up while she listened to some nice music. She had just slipped her shoes off and was getting ready to pour herself a glass of wine when the phone rang. It was her friend, Dana.
"Hey, Jenny! Are you busy tonight? Tom says this new guy at work is pretty nice and thinks you might like him. Why don't we all go out for dinner?"
Jenny groaned, and started to say she was bushed when Dana added,
"He's tall, dark hair, nice dresser, and really interesting, Tom says! How 'bout it? We don't see very many neat guys around here, do we? We'll pick you up at 6, OK?"
Jenny agreed, thanked Dana, and hung up the phone. She washed her face, applied new makeup, and put on a pair of nice slacks and her new sweater. She brushed out her hair and was slipping on her loafers when she heard Tom's horn honk.
As Dana had said, Jeff, the new guy, was really nice and good-looking too. They went to their favorite Italian restaurant and had a great meal, enjoying the food and conversation. Jeff had been to Europe as a student, and he had some amusing stories of his experiences. Jenny felt wonderful and enjoyed every minute! Jeff said he'd call her in a few days, if that was OK.
While the guys walked out to get the car, Dana asked Jenny,
"Wow! You look like the Energizer Bunny! What happened to Miss Moan and Groan from earlier this evening? Where did you get all that pep? What's your secret?"
What was Jenny's secret?

Hint
No, she didn't take a pep pill!Answer
Jenny answered, "Well, one good thing was washing my face; that always helps! But the main thing is something my Mother and my Grandma both always told me; I changed my shoes!""Changed your shoes? Hmmmm....! How does that help?"
"Well, when you wear one pair of shoes for several hours, they tend to press on your feet in certain places. Maybe you don't even really notice it, but those pressures tire you out. If you put on another pair of shoes, those shoes press on different places and give the feet a rest, almost like a vacation!"
"Great idea; I'm going to remember that one!"
