Attention all Brainglers!
Coming up on September 12th 2009*, A group of Moderators will be moderating the FIRST ever the WereWolf Tournament. It will be composed of 3-4 10 player games (So we need at least 40 braingle members), ALL wolves who make it into round 4 [the top 4] automatically advance.
The top 3, 4, or 5 humans or seer [depending on how many wolves make it into round 4] advance. To define "top" I mean the humans/seer who vote for the most wolves. If there is a tie between the humans, I would then go by who makes it farther. (jtolley)YOU MUST BE ACTIVE, IF YOU ARE INFAMOUS FOR BEING INACTIVE PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP.
Prizes are being thought of as of now. It might be a special avatar for you to show around braingle or a cool do-dad for your wiki. So braingle members clear your games for September 12th, 2009 for the first BraingleWerewolf Tournament!
As you can tell we are going to need Moderators for this tourney so we will need AT LEAST 4 Moderators. Mind you, YOU MUST be active we will research your past games and how you ran them based on activity not RATINGS. As of now we have all of our moderators ready for the games.
If you would like to be considered for this tourney please PM me.
If you would like to sign up for the tournament just post here saying you WILL join.

Hey, I'd like to play.
But, this is just a suggestion to improve things.
Instead of picking the 5 people who make it farthest, it should be the 5 people who do the best. I know that gets into some issues about how do we judge that stuff, etc. BUT, it the only gives the advantage to the wolves. What if the seer finds it strategically best to oust him or herself in round 2? He or she will get eaten and not be in the top 5. That's not fair. In addition, what if a human makes a great discovery, pinning the wolves, and then is eaten early because of it? That system punishes good humans.
So here's what I would suggest:
ALL wolves who make it into round 4 [the top 4] automatically advance.
The top 3, 4, or 5 humans or seer [depending on how many wolves make it into round 4] advance. To define "top" I mean the humans/seer who vote for the most wolves.
If there is a tie between the humans, I would then go by who makes it farther.
Of course, there is still some inherent unfairness, BUT it reduces it greatly.
That's my suggestion!

.................
This topic contains the sign up information for Game 10 of 1 vs. 100. Before signing up, please see the Rules & Game Play topic for basic information on the game.
To sign up, you will need to fill out the form below. The password is only used by the Game Mods for clarification purposes, and will be discarded once the game ends. Do not use your Braingle password.
Now that a few games have been played, signing up for The One is now restricted to those who have participated in at least one game of 1 vs. 100 and made it past round 5 in that game. This is to insure that we have an active and knowledgeable One, which in turn insures that we have the most fun game possible.
In the event multiple people want to be The One, someone will be chosen at random from those who have applied. Those not chosen will automatically become members of the Mob. If you have played as The One in a past game you may not apply again, sorry.
If you wish to be notified of the game's start, add the Notifications topic to your watchlist.

It's so good to be back!!!!!! I don't know how long it will be but I will do my best to not stay away as long as I did this past time. |

It's that time of year again-the Unofficial Braingle Awards are here!
There have been some significant changes from last year, the main one being that the awards are no longer located in a private talk box. They are in the General Discussion forum for everyone to see. Award Mods pick very little: YOU suggest awards, YOU nominate people for those awards, and YOU choose the winner out of the top 5 nominees for each award. We will have 20 awards this year, so come make sure that you come and get your award suggestions in before suggestion time closes!
Important Dates:
Oct. 8: Award Suggestions Begin
Oct. 15: Nominations begin
Oct. 22: Voting Begins
Oct. 29: Awards Ceremony
Suggest. Nominate. Vote.
Please tell your friends to get the word out! This has the potential to be an awesome event!
I just lost the game...and so did you. |

I've started a WTB game (Murder She Wrote). It's a private game, and if you're on my friends list, and are interested, you are more than welcome!!!! Should be a fund game, as we're half way there, with great players already!!

The Lateral Logic Lounge Talkbox is now open. It's a talkbox for doing situation puzzles in the yes/no format that they are meant to be done in. I think if we can get a few members it'll be really fun.

I would like to repeat this ad! I've joined this TB, and at first I didn't even know what "Lateral Logic", or "Lateral Thinking" Puzzles were! It's a great kind of puzzle, and so far we've had TONS o' fun!!!
The Lateral Logic Puzzles is a format that begins with a statement or a story. For example, "A man ordered Abalone at a seaside restaurant. After he ate the Abalone (it's a type of shell-fish) the man went home and shot himself in the head, dying instantly. Why?"
The puzzle consists of finding the solution or mystery or missing piece of the original story/statement. You do this by asking questions that can be answered with "Yes" or "No". Sometimes it's really difficult, and sometimes easy, but it's always fun! You can make up and start you own too! There are actually many many Lateral Logic Puzzles sites on the Web, and you can also find puzzles to post here on many of them... but you take the chance that someone else will know it or have seen it too.
Please check it out! I was tired of most of the games we have here, and I'm so glad I found this TB because it's a fun new kind of game for me!
Life... can be so many things... how can anyone ever think they are RIGHT? HAhahahahahahaha!!!!! |

Pardon my ignorance, but how do you find it? I've browsed all the TBs and even did a search to no avail.

Click the above image to be directed to mathisnice's amazing new twenty player Werewolf game, Werewolves at Hogwarts. You will be sorted into a house, competing for the house cup, solving clues, and will take on the names of real Harry Potter characters! One person will even get to be Harry Potter himself! Find out more by clicking on the above image. This is a very well thought out game, and mathisnice will try my best to make it fun and interesting. See you there!

Well, I know Paladin found the Lateral Thinking TB, but I don't know why you didn't find it before... Maybe because I didn't put the exact name of the TB? I'm gonna check it and correct the name in my siggy.
OK, the Talkbox that I like and encourage others to join (and thanks to those who have!!! woot! ) is called:
Lateral Logic Lounge.(Situation Puzzle Talkbox)
