I think the settings we have now are good.
You can't send the same PM to more than one person at a time, and
if someone isn't opening the mail from you then you can't send more than five.

Of course, if they're deleting them as they come I suppose that wouldn't help.

But then, the receiver could blacklist the person if it's that much of a problem.

*shrug*

Still, overall I like our settings.
But if you wanted to change it up to where New Folks or Even All Non-Subs only get X number,
then Blues get 2x and Reds get 3x I won't be complaining... but then, I'm a Sub.

Only thing I can see that causing problems with would be cames like Gizzer's where all players have to send PMs to the mod. But then, most the folks that love Braingle and go to the trouble to come up with elaborate games like that are Subs anyways so *shrug*

Oh, yeah, another barrier to us teens who can't exactly pull out $30 for a sub.

Well then.

If I can figure a way, on our budget, you can too.

If all else fails put it on your Gift Wish List...

That's what Kid does with WoW...
Though that is a bit easier since you can buy the sub (via card) at any Gamestop, etc.

*shrug*

That's pure spam.
If you consider interviewing, complaining, and normal posts spam...

Well, that's kinda all we do in one talk box and its not really called spam...it's called conversation.
If you're referring to DT...
That's awesome. ^.^

Oh yeah!

@Nose(IFB) I don't want mine to either. I mean, I just like being able to say what I want here.

Yeah I think that there should be unlimited PM allowance between mutual friends. I mean, why would you befriend a spammer or someone you don't want to talk to? That should solve most problems. And the PM limit you can send to people who are not on your friends list should be based on the karma system. These two things should be enough to paralyse the activities of PM spammers altogether.

Ah good point... that's not bad at all... but very changing so I donno how the coding could work.

Initial wise... I hope there isn't a limit on PMs... since there's already three of us.

I don't think there should be a limit, but the good guys can always ban the bad guys, end of spamming problems.

I believe that there should be a P.M. limit for users that have been here for less than a month and members that do not have a positive karma arrow.

I get why people say there should be a limit and i agree, there is a lot of spam. But some people go overboard on the PMing.

Is there really that much of a problem with spamming? I certainly don't have that problem. If someone PMs you incessantly just foe list them. Why should those who aren't breaking the rules be punished for those who are? Plus some werewolf games etc need to be able to PM a lot.

My only problem is that I often use briangle at school and I can't use the chat room because the school doesn't allow it so sometimes I could send about 60 pm a day to only a few people. I think that you are approching it wrong, you are limiting pm's per day. When your problem is not the quantity of pm's but the quantity of people that receive the pm's. I suggest limiting the number of people that you can send pm's to in a single day.

I know it's a bit late for this post, but limiting the number of people that you can send PMs to might strain some of the specialty WWG/WTB moderators, especially those with fifteen or more players.

Agreed. I have games with points systems and codes to P.M. for extraclues and all that. Then I have to reply to all those P.m.'s. Plus I get wiki P.M.'s all the time and I have to reply to those. Some days, I get tons of P.M.'s!

As I said above, a karma cap might be okay.
