So Happy Father's Day to all the fathers on our site!
What did everyone do for Father's Day? I celebrated my first ever Father's Day this year with my stepfather. (As some of you know, my bio father and my mom got divorced while she was pregnant.) My stepfather really has tried to be the father I should have had, he even walked me down the isle when my husband and I had our marriage sanctified and was just so proud. So I've been excited about Father's Day for weeks.
I live in Northern Nevada and took my Papa Bear to Devil's Gate (because there has to have been, like a state law against having a cheerfully named area ), it's a historical area, lots of old mines and now they're trying to mine again out in my neck of the woods. Well when they mine, they leave behind all the geodes and quartz and some gemstones. So me, mom, Papa Bear and Mr. T went out far into the back, had a picnic with the dogs and then went crystal hunting. We got some great quartz, and some Turquoise. Papa Bear and Mr. T think they may have found a giant chunk of raw silver in one of areas where there was a slide, so they are going to go back early one the morning and haul it out. Beautiful day, I'll have to get some pictures up. It was a totally perfect first Father's Day.
So what did everyone do? Anyone have some good stories?

My daughter and her husband, along with my two grandsons spent the afternoon and evening at our place. We had a lot of fun out front in the sprinklers and then enjoyed watching some classic Mythbusters. My wife cooked a traditional Turkey dinner with all the fixins... and it really was great (who says you have to have Thanksgiving only once a year!).
My son and his wife came over on Friday night and we played board games until about 11 PM... he had a special date on Father's day for a friend who was playing in her first professional Roller Derby game.
Both kids gave me nice gifts, but my daughter probably gave the nicest one of all... 8 tickets to an upcoming Dodger game, including parking... so I can spend it with all of my immediate family (okay... so she and her family gets 4 of the tickets... but you know, I can handle that!).
