So Bluegrasss is taking over the hot seat... great him one and all and ask away!
Guidelines for interviewing:
Only five questions per post - and you aren't able to ask more questions until your five have been answered. This is to avoid huge lists of questions being put to the interviewee making answering them a daunting task. It should also improve the quality of the questions and the answers.

Hi Blue! Wow, quite a list of interviewees. I've never done it but now I think I should in the future because everyone else in the world has.
Well, this is against the required format, but what I really want to know is, your life. Could you write the most sketchy bio, like just one paragraph, saying where you were born, where you've lived, school, job, marriage, major life experiences? I know it sounds like too much, but just the simplest facts would tell me and others so much about you that we don't know.
Life... can be so many things... how can anyone ever think they are RIGHT? HAhahahahahahaha!!!!! |

1) Brian's Song, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, The Towering Inferno, & Mozart.
2) The Bible, The Harbinger, any Alfred Hitchcock Books, Astronaut Biography: Neil Armstrong, & The Handbook for Lightning Strike Survivors.
3) Ireland's Call by Celtic Thunder, God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood, From this Moment On by Shania Twain, Magellan by Yoyoy Villame, Messiah by Handel & any Bluegrass Music (yes I know that is 6).
4) Paul Edward Anderson (October 17, 1932 - August 15, 1994)
5) If there was an apocalypse, and you and a group of about 15 people were the only survivors, each would be a leader. Each would have their own speciality and everyone would have to work together to survive.

I was born in Ohio. I have worked all phases of construction. Then went back to school and got my degrees. I taught on a Bachelor's Level at a College. Yes, I was married and am now remarried. Major life experiences includes achieving my degrees, sad to say having one of my students commit suicide (the night before graduation), meeting John Glenn in person, meeting Grandpa Jones and his grandson in person, going to Seoul, South Korea & the Philippines (in a wheelchair), and being alive (was technically dead) from being struck by lightning.

Hey Blue, you've had some interesting, yet at least one disturbing, life experiences.
I have a couple questions... and I do understand if you prefer not to answer the first couple.
1. What was the circumstances to being struck by lighting? Such as what were you doing, where were you, anyone else near you?
2. You use a wheelchair, is it 100% of the way you have to get around, or can you move/walk short distances with assistance?
3. Any children by either of your marriages? If so, how old now?
4. What genre of movies do you prefer?
5. What do you like to watch on TV?

Hi Blue!
1) Other than Bluegrass, what other style of music do you care for?
2) Do you sing or play an instrument yourself?
3) What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
4) What surprises you the most about the human race?
5) What disappoints you the most about the human race?
Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love. In loving memory of my dear friend Guy - take care Goobs . . |

Sorry Randy these are quite lengthily.
1. What was the circumstances to being struck by lighting? Such as what were you doing, where were you, anyone else near you?
1) My program I was teaching was being revamped and I had some spare time on my hands. So I went to work at a Home Improvement Store. (The rest is told to me by witnesses and the Carmel (Indiana) Fire Chief.) It had stormed out side and 4 of us waited till it quite. We went out as the clouds were breaking up and the sun was coming out. 2 of the group split off to go one direction and the other 2 went another direction. I asked the person I was with if they worked the next day and said see you then. I split off from them when they got in their car, this is the last thing I remember until coming out of a coma. They got in their car started their engine, put it in reverse, looked in their rear view mirror and actual saw the Lightning hit me. I took a direct hit to the left forehead and exited out the right ankle (accord to the 2 people who seen me get hit). There was an ex-EMT & an off duty RN that started CPR & Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation, until Carmel Fire Department got there. According to the Carmel Fire Chief who visited me quite of few times in the Hospitals, he told at a news conference when asked what do you tell people about Lightning Strike. Quote the Carmel Fire Chief said "I used to tell them to be the lowest thing around. Blue was the lowest thing in the parking lot, there was Light poles and trucks around him, why he got struck I do not know. Blue was hit by Lightning from a storm 15 miles away. If you hear Thunder take shelter immediately". I had a 3 police car escort to the Hospital. I stayed over 3 1/2 weeks at a Burn Center and over 9 1/2 weeks at a Rehab Hospital, where therapy was 5 to 6 hours a day 6 days a week to be able to live 85% to 90% on my own. (If there is more questions please ask.)
2. You use a wheelchair, is it 100% of the way you have to get around, or can you move/walk short distances with assistance?
2) I am consider a Paralysis Victim, due to limited movement in the legs. The Spinal Cord (as told to me) is made up of 6 cords, 3 cords for each side. 1 cord for each side is for "Soft Touch" such as running a feather up your leg. The 2nd cord is for "Hard Touch" where they poke you with a pin or needle. The 3rd cord is to help the motor function(s) of the muscles of each leg. I have all of the "Soft Touch & Hard Touch". The 3rd cord was damaged by the Lightning Strike which resulted in limited movement in the legs, thus not being able to walk. So yes I depend on a wheel chair to get around.
3. Any children by either of your marriages? If so, how old now?
3) This is actually my 3rd marriage. Yes I have children from the first 2 marriages. Some of you know this, but now every one will. I have 8 Children 4 Boys & 4 Girls. Ages (Daughter) 31 years old, (Son) 30 years old, (Son) 28 years old, (Son) 25 years old, (Daughter) 24 years old, (Daughter) 21 years old, (Son) 19 years old, and (Daughter) 12 years old.
4. What genre of movies do you prefer?
4) Horror, Murder Investigations, Opera, and Science Fiction.
5. What do you like to watch on TV?
5) NCIS, CSI, Cooking Shows, Andy Griffin, Family Shows, Some Comedy, Opera, Beverly Hillbllies, Investigation Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Channel.

Hi Snowy, glad to have a Buckeye to ask questions.
1) Celtic Music, Bagpipe Music, Opera, Rock & Roll, Country, Folk Music, Gospel, Ham Bone, Polka, and Classic.
2) Sorry I do not sing, nor Play a Instrument.
3) Blueberry
4) In the time of a Disaster we can all work together.
5) All the rest of the time we fight, bicker, have to shove our own personal belief on other people. If we can work together during a Disaster, then why can we not do that all the rest of the time.

Interesting stuff Blue...
1. So with having older children... any of them married?
2. Any grandchildren to enjoy yet?
3. As a Paralysis Victim, and I did do some reading on it... are you getting treatment that might help with your situation and enable you mobility again?
4. Did you enjoy Thanksgiving?
Ok, only four questions, but it technically is still Thanksgiving for me... and I am tired and going to bed now.

1) Yes 3 of my children are married, with another "I am thinking about it, but I don't know the day yet".
2) 3 Grandchildren, 2 Grandsons and 1 Granddaughter. Before you ask one is 10 years old, one is 7 years old, and 20 months old.
3) I spent over 9 1/2 weeks in a Rehab hospital, then a year after that 3 months outpatient therapy, and then a 2 1/2 years later I tried some out patient therapy, but the Doctors have determine I have reached a Plateau (a medical term that therapy is not helping nor hurting). So currently I am at a place maybe in a year more therapy may or may not help.
4) Yes very much, because my Wife or I did not have to cook or clean up.
