For those of you who observe Lent, what are you fasting from?

I am giving up complaining and hugs. Complaining, because I feel I have been too negative lately, and hugs, because, well, in recent months, I have become a really touchy-feely person, and I wanted to give up something I enjoy. It is much more difficult than I thought, but I managed to survive Valentine's Day without a single hug.

Someday, when I have more willpower, I will give up chocolate.

I gave up soda/pop. Hopefully this means I'll be saved from diabetes (my dad and my grandfathers have it). I also gave up procrastination: I started studying a couple hours earlier than normal.

And I will never give up chocolate near Easter for one very important reason:

Get your priorities straight son!

Not that we're turning this Lent thread into a chocolate appreciation thread, of course.

I've never given up anything for Lent, but I can respect those who do, especially when it's something negative like complaining. Good luck to all who participate in the fasting (clearly chocolate would be a bad one for many here. I could probably do it. It's not my favourite sweet. But electronics ... tough.)

I actually don't like those. They are WAY too sweet for my liking.

Creme eggs are way too sweet. Mini eggs are perfect.

Okay then, I may have gotten the two mixed up. Point is, there exists in this world an egg-shaped candy which is too sweet to suit me.

I love creme eggs, but they used to be BIGGER. Cadbury downsized.

Behold, the power of Braingle! We can turn a conversation from Lent into shrinking chocolate eggs. Magic.

I am Eastern Orthodox and we have to give all animal products. we dont just choose to give up one thing.

So after, when he whispers, "You love me. Real or not real?" I tell him, "Real".
