For the first time, exactly nine movies got nominated for Best Picture.

The Artist
The Descendants
Extremely Lous and Incredibly Close
The Help
Hugo
Midnight in Paris
Moneyball
Tree of Life
War Horse

I have to say, the things I am happiest about are Midnight in Paris and Tree of Life getting Best Picture nominations, as well as Gary Oldman and Rooney Mara getting acitng nominations. I can not say I'm pleased with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close getting a Best Picture nomination, as well as the absolute snub of Albert Brooks in the Best Supporting Actor category. Thoughts anybody?

I haven't seen it yet, but I have heard horrible reviews about Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

I think it is hilarious that in the black/white silent movie there were people leaving the cinema demanding their money back because there was NO SOUND!
