I chose metal since some people call The Jonas Brothers "rock" which is a disgrace to all rock artists and fans everywhere.

I chose country but I love rock too. But not all rock, just parts of it.

Could have had more choices. I had trouble choosing between metal and rock since I don't consider them all that different. But I chose rock.

Love rock. But some bands are kind of pathetic. Jonas Brothers cannot be considered rock, it's one of the farthest things from it. Metal is good and all, but I prefer something in between.

I agree but their fans actually consider it Rock...but if Jonas Brothers are Rock then My Chemical Romance is death metal.
Actually I think we should officially dub the Jonas Brothers "Disney Rock" or for short "D-rock". All the "music" in the movie Camp "Rock" can join this new music genre.

You cant have that many genres because their are to many now. The main ones are Rock, Hip hop, Country, Religious, and Indy because Indy branches out into pretty much everything. Oh I chose rock by the way

and i agree there are many genres of course i should know and so should you music guy cuz i guess you live up to your name

I'd consider G'n'R "rock" before Metallica and Kiss.
But that's taking "rock" as just the standard base genre.
Then we get to play with things such as metal, alternative, prog, punk, etc.
And each of those have their own sub genres.
With metal you can vary from hair metal to goth rock.
Then you'll also step in Nu Metal, which is the most wide narrow-genre ever created.
Nu Metal bridges back into rap routs, with their similar vocal and lyrical stylings.
So, in theory (after a few more connections), Soulja Boy is as much a "rock" artist as Tom Scholz.
The above post should be taken with 100% sarcasm. |

Eh, "Rock" is way too vague and general. Personally I like many many more types of music than are on this list.
Some are:
Rock'n'Roll / Drum'N'Bass / 1st, 2nd and some 3rd Wave Ska / Funk / Older Country / Hard Rock (ex. Thin Lizzy)/ and so much more. Especially Novelty music, and crazy organ music like Klaus Wunderlich and Jean-Jacques Perrey. Grouping "all other" types of music in indie sounds ludicris. Why not just say they are "Fast Music" and "Slow Music"? It's all quite vague.
P.S - I'd be really happy if anyone could agree with any of my music choices. But I doubt that will happen. Ha Ha. Oh well. One can dream.

Well...That wouldnt work because you couldnt get me to touch "Rap" with a thousand Foot pole! It is not music. Its fast paced talking with background muis attatches to give it the illusioin of "music".
Other than that, I'm pretty open.

OK I now made it as Official as I can. Disney Rock or "D-rock" is now a musical genre.
EDIT: Sorry, I would just like to mention that Selena Gomez remains an exception to all the insults I shoot at Disney. She has a beautiful voice and deserves nothing but praise from all the kids all over Disney nation.
