I don't really like sports such as cross-country or track. I really don't like to run unless you are doing something, like in soccer. I barely notice all the running I do in soccer, but whenever I run laps, or on the track, or whatever, I get tired a lot faster than if I were playing a game. But I do have a lot of friends on cross-country, and they love it.
I want to find a map to Sugar Candy Mountain. =D |

Three of my grandchildren have ran XC. Two have already graduated, but the youngest one is running Varsity, is a Junior and is just under 17:49. Of course he was also a State Qualifier his freshman year.
In fact all of the kids were State Qualifiers their freshman years. My oldest just enjoyed running and never really excelled quite like the granddaughter and the one who is now in High School. My granddaughter was so good she was tapped out her first year running XC at State to represent Nebraska in the Junior Olympics Down Under Games in Sydney Australia. She was down there for a little over two weeks competing against runners from all over the world. It was a great experience for her.
As a Senior she won the State Championship but I can't remember what her time was. The way these kids learned to run, other than the fact that their mother was the first female to qualify for state from this town, (but she had been killed in a car wreck when the kids were 1-5), was my son didn't believe in time outs or grounding for discipline. He made them run laps, and if one of the younger ones passed on of the older ones, then the older one had to run more laps. I used to tell him, Some day those kids are going to be so fast you can't catch them. Guess what, they are! Great individual sport that gives the heart and lungs a super good work out Our local coach has been here for over 35 years, but he just has a way with the kids to make them believe in themselves. We have been fortunate to have him.
DINO! So he's new! But come join his WTB game as a crimesolver in each state. Sounds like a great series starting with Alabama. Come join in the fun. See you there. |

No, I hate cross country. There is no physical point of competitive edge so it is really boring. Plus I am pretty lazy when it comes to running.

XC? I don't understand these positions. Our school just refers to crosscountry runners as "cross country runners"

I'm in >-C-C-> I love it. The Boys Jr. High is undefeted so far, and Thursday I'm competing in the District Meet. We'll win and but I don't think we'll win state, our Varsity is bad this year. Lockhart has one state twice in the last 10 years and were known for our CC.

chilli, chilli, chilli it is comments like this that give Canadians the reputation for being slow. The X = cross. So you do the math.

Sub 11 0? Thats pretty much impossible in a 3.1 mile race, actually I think it is impossible. If you could do that you would be a pretty insane runner.

I know, I'm as amazed as u, when my coach first saw me run his mouth opened
really wide. I love to run and i never get tired
i'm assuming it's a 2 mile race or your a complete liar...in the 5K that would be a world record and 3 consecutive world record miles...

She said it was a goal, not that she did it. I have high goals myself, I may never reach them but if I don't chase them I won't have anything else to do.

I did XC in my 7th grade year. I sucked so much, I didn't even HAVE a position.

Yeah my fastest mile time is 5.38 and I'm 13. This has nothing to do with CC but My fastest 40 yard dash time is 4.94. Thats pretty dang fast for my age as well.
