This was a really close game from beginning to end. From the South Division were the Jacksonville Sharks, who finished the season with a 14-4 record. In the American Conference Semifianls, they beat the Orlando Predators 63-48 and would face the Georgia Force in the Conference Championship. They then beat the Force 64-55 to win the game and advance to the ArenaBowl.
Out of the West Division were the Arizona Rattlers, who finished the season with a league record 16-2 record. In the National Conference Semifinals, they beat the Spokane Shock 62-33 and would face the Chicgao Rush in the Conference Championship. They then beat the Crush 54-48 to advance to the ArenaBowl.

Both teams scored three touchdowns in the second quarter, but another missed extra point by the Sharks gave the Rattlers a 35-32 lead at the half. Both teams only scored one touchdown in the third quarter, but yet another missed extra point by the Sharks gave the Rattlers a 42-38 lead after three and put them one quarted away from their third Arenabowl. The Rattlers started off scoring in the first, a touchdown, giving them an 11 point lead, 49-38. The Sharks responded to get back within four, 49-45. After intercepting a pass, the Sharks scored a touchdown and successfully attempted a two-poiny conversion to take a 53-49 lead. The Rattlers came back again to take a 56-53 lead. An onside kick gave the Sharks good position, and took a 60-56 lead. Another onside kick gave the Rattlers good position an a 63-60. A trick onside kick caught the Sharks off-guard, but with 40 seconds left, they took a 67-63 lead. The Rattlers had a nice kick return, and with 21 seconds left, took a 70-67 lead. With two seconds left, the Sharks were at the Rattlers 13 yard line. Quarterback Aaron Garcia threw a perfect pass as time expired, and his eighth touchdown pass won him and the Jacksonville Sharks their first Arenabowl Championship. And now they're going to DisneyWorld, a few cities away.
