April the Giraffe

My wife has been watching a giraffe, named April, who is at the Animal Adventure Park... and she is pregnant and close to giving birth.

At first, my interest was minimal. Sadly for me, it has become intense. I started up my second computer just to watch. She seems to know that something is about to happen. This is not her first birth, It is #3 and all have been successful... but somewhere I read that giraffe's do not have retentive memory and she may not remember she had a baby before.

Tonight, she continues to check her back area. The vet at this Park visited earlier, and shortly thereafter it seems as if the heat was turned on in the cage.

Point is, is anyone else watching this?

Giraffes give birth standing up, their young drop 6 feet. Not all births go smoothly... so if you have not heard of this and wish to check it out... great; but if the birth goes bad, please do not blame me. I think a giraffe who has had at least a couple successful births has a good chance of a successful birth this time.

Keep in mind there are several live streams... I typed April the giraffe and got many options. The feed from Animal Adventure Park is the one you want, it is live. Toys R Us is their current sponsor... oh yeah, their mascot is a giraffe.

Baby born about 7 am PST... looks healthy. No longer says Toys R Us, says Babies R Us.

It is a boy, a contest will be held to name him. His father, watching from the next arena... his name is Oliver and this is his first.

I ran into a place that looked like the one you mentioned and my Norton warned me not to go into it, so I backed out and didn't go into it. Glad the baby is born, I know there were a lot of people watching for his birth. Oliver, huh? Half way between A & O is G so I'm going to make up a name. GAPOL, half hers, half his.

Thanks for letting us know. I suppose now they will be running a live stream of Gapol while he gets used to having his feet on the floor and his head in the air. Bad pun.

The sound of the wild, but if there is no one there, does anyone hear their howls?
