Well, count all but the black squares and see if that number relates to anything.

Have you met all the requirements to be a QuizMaster? Would you like to help the Braingle community just that little bit more? If you answered yes to both of them you should become a QuizMaster. Some categories are desperate for help.

Can anyone help me with level 5?

After figuring out that it was a ******* cipher with ***** rails, you quickly decode the message, get out your world map and locate *******.

Beep. This time, the screen on the gadget doesn't display any text. All it shows is the following image.

(the box with gray, black, and white squares)

You are starting to feel a little hungry, so you get dressed (which isn't very easy with a missing arm) and walk down the hall, to the kitchen, to get some breakfast before taking a crack at the latest puzzle.

ANY HINTS???

Count the number of white and grey squares.

What does that number remind you of?

Can someone help me with Level 4?

I have decoded the text and now I need to do what it says. I cannot locate a city near it. Can someone help me?

Edited: So nevermind the above one I was looking at the wrong direction. Now I am in level 5.

And Now I'm in Level 6. To help you vanhoot, assign a letter for each white and grey square. In an orderly manner, consecutively. It's up to you to find something interesting and...

Someome please help me with level 6.

That was the picture in level 6. I found what cipher is used, and decoded all the symbols. I'm not so sure about the first symbol, is that punctuation? Even without that, I cannot think of anything interesting after I decode the symbols.

That is a punctuation mark, but is seems to be oriented the wrong way, right? How could you fix that? And what impact would that have on the rest of the puzzle?

Thank you, tsimkin. Now I'm in level 7. I could be knowing what cipher is used here, but any more help?

Don't be a square. Decipher this message and come down to the library.

Well... are there any hints? usually at the start of all the levels have a hint at the start... hmm... square? what kind of cipher has anything to do with that? Oh... Polybius square, but wait, that is only numbers, is there another cipher like the Polybius square? Thats already enough of a hint.

hey guys! i've started the missing arm puzzle hunt two days ago, and i'm stuck in level 4:

After flipping through the book, you realized that it was a Vigenère cipher, and a quick web search told you that the key was "******", but deciphering the message took some patience and hard work. Luckily, you discovered the answer and spoke into the device, "******".

It beeps and displays the following message:

==MESSAGE==
You may need a map or two to solve this one.

TENWR OHSEE ITEAE FHCTL CTDER OTSVN ERETI TSXIU ENRHA IUENO EUDET ETTOE RETET MNTSE TOGTD HASET TILVL SHNMO TEIYO AENAF RYEED GESHR YIMNT SOTLT TDADN HNRDW NYWDG ESWNY IUEWS LNIUE
==END==

please help!!!

EDIT - never mind, i got it. thanks anyway!

i really dont get level 5!!!

After figuring out that it was a Rail Fence cipher with two rails, you quickly decode the message, get out your world map and locate Seattle.

Beep. This time, the screen on the gadget doesn't display any text. All it shows is the following image.

Ignoring the trailing black squares, how many squares are there? Start with that, and then look at which ones are shaded or unshaded.

How bout this? Instead of ignoring the black squares lets just say they are "excess" pieces. By the way, please delete the answer to the previous challenge.
