Okay!! so I know that many of the people here are probably living geniuses or really smart students or something like that...

so I was just wondering if braingle (for those long time users) really effect the way you think. I mean do you think that your brain functions much quicker or more creatively. So basically has braingle made you a smarter more sharper person. My marks are pretty good, but I want it to be better, so will exercise, better dieting, good sleep and of course braingle really make a difference. Tell me people, I need motivation here.

Thanx to all the geniuses who reply

My genius came about by circumstance after birth. I am a victim of an immunization shot gone wrong when I was a baby. It drastically changed many things about me, and wrecked my growth and development. Fortunately, my brain got the nicer end of the effects, and I have an incredible memory capacity, and the ability to learn almost anything I want to eventual mastery. Not seeing an option that reflected my condition in the poll, I abstained from voting.

Haha. I'm only defining my "genius" as unusual mental capacity due to a medical "accident".

When I was seven, I fell into a giant container of radioactive brain goo. My DNA was altered, my head grew to twice the normal size, and I just haven't been the same since.

I guess this topic is going downhill.

I really think bee was trying to find out what makes people exceptionally smart, and we're reading too much into her use of the word "genius", which may simply be her way of describing exceptional people.

Honestly, I don't there is any "geniuses" out there. We're all smart in one area of interest, some people in more than one areas. It has to do with people's insight on different things, too.

Fine, fine, I'll answer the question as it was intended to be interpreted.

I tend to agree with the cheesy one here, ( couldn't resist Grilledcheese) I believe that IQ tests and the like are only good for measuring certain aptitudes of certain people.

Genius as I define it is something that each man and woman is born with, but not all cultivate. I believe that genius has to be cared for with an open mind, fed knowledge regularly, and planted in a life rich with the fertile soil (or soil made fertile) of opportunity to thrive.

Edit: any extra intellectual skill I possess is born of practicing those two methods, and looking for the latter.

Ok, I don't think Braingle has had any affect on me thinking more, at least in a positive way. This is, obviously, a brain teaser website which motivates you to think out of the box on some teasers. Whether you get the answer or not, you're not smarter or dumber than you were before. In everyday instances we come across a variety of situations which lead us to think more... but we usually don't look at things that way.

I think everyone has a little genius in them, just in different ways. Math genius, genius with people, literary genius, computer genius, music genius...

Anyway, the question. I don't think braingle has really stretched my brain in any way. Might have hurt my grades by causing me to get on the computer instead of doing my homework.

But I suppose it has expanded some of my general knowledge through the quizzes and the forums. It'd take a heck of a lot of brain teasers to really make so much impact. I've read plenty of them but not that many.
