Yeah, I was like aicham until I was 11.. I was always "remembering" the future and was constantly getting deja vu to the extreme. Started after my 7th birthday party. Which I had twice. (had a dream of my 7th birthday party the night before my 7th birthday party.. but my real 7th birthday party wasnt any different)

PineapplePapa-I read your explanation! It actually makes a lot of sense. In fact, I like all of the explanations, so I don't know which to believe.
Trickster1992-That's so cool! I think that's more psychic than DejaVu though.
Whenever I get DejaVu I try really hard to remember why I am remembering it. Most of the time, the felling disappears, but other times it stays. I try to figure out "what happens next," but I never can, and the more I think about the feeling, the sooner it slips away.

Happens to me all the time. I'll dream I'm looking out the car window at a specific tree, then I'll think, whoa, didn't this happen before? Deja vu. Ok, let it go. Then the next day, I'll look out the car window, hey there's that tree, whoa, didn't this happen before? Deja vu. Ok, let it go. Wait, that's what you thought last time.

Life is like that crazy Bach concerto I'm playing: no matter how hard you work, you never feel like you're really prepared, but when it really matters, you'll do fine, and come out all the more prepared for next concert.

I never understood what Deja Vu was either, but my friend had a pretty good explanation when he explained his definition, it made perfect sense. Okay, what basically happens is either one of your eye sees the exact imagine you are experiencing quicker then the opposite eye . This happens amazingly fast that only your subconscious picks up remembering the last imagine that just went through your head causing your mind to think that you had previously experienced the scenario although you never actually have.

I don't know if that makes sense to you, what do you think?

I'm very interested in the idea of the subconscious rendering images and things as memory before we consciously recognize them (PineapplePapa, I read your post ). If anyone has a link or book about that I would love to read it.

As far as my deja-vu experiences, they are always a dream first. They can be a month to a year or so in advance. I used to think they were creepy, but I have taken it as a sign that I'm on the right path. Kind of like a re-assuring nod from fate.
Back when I taught I had a weird dream about pleadings, coding, and such (part of what I do now). I woke up and thought, why would I be doing that? Teachers don't do that sort-of thing, they don't even have an office, and so I blew it off. Then, a few years later, many months into my new job, and BAM. I took it to mean my change in profession was the right choice for me.

When I was in grade school I was able to use a deja-vu moment to score a soccer goal in gym class. That is my first recollection of having them, but that probably wasn't my first one. Being able to manipulate the situation (in my dream I didn't kick the ball) was an odd and awesome feeling all at once.

Thank you solarsistem for creating this thread, I really enjoyed everyone's comments and theories.

de ju vu I think is the uncoinscience to conscience thing or you read see or hear about something then something similar happenes and you think it happened b/c you were tired or something.

I don't really have deja vu, but sometimes if I dream something it happens. Like, I'll dream about a place I've never been before, and then like a week later I go there. My sister does that too. It's kind of weird...

If time's a' wastin', why are you reading my signature? l http://www.cafepress.com/sapphireduck I get money for college! Duck shirts!

They say that deja vu--the noun type--is usually because you've seen a certain pattern or object before, and it seems to make you think you've seen the whole room before.
The verb type is... uh.. Really odd..

WOW! yea this is how my deja vu experiances are. i c an object then for some strange reason the entire room seems familiar.
