Try saying only the colour of the word and not the word itself...For example, for the word, BLACK you should say "RED."
BLACK
GREEN
RED
YELLOW
BLUE
PURPLE
ORANGE
PINK
YELLOW
GREEN
RED
CYAN
GOLDEN
ORANGE
This is called Stroop effect. This happens because your left part of the brain tries to say the colour and the right part of your brain tries to say the word itself.

Ouch! My brain hurts!  I actually felt the strain doing this!  Very interesting demonstration of the different functions of the brain.

I agree! It was really fun trying to "tell" my brain to see the colour, not read the colour! Interesting game chidman!

Oh my Gaaawwwddd.....!!!! Thanks so much for that. I was reading the words so s..l...o...w.....l...y.......! It totatally dumbed me down to read the word while saying the actual color. PLUS- I happen to know i'm a very visual person to begin with. (And tactile). thanks again- this was fun. Anymore?

fun..i felt some strain, probably would have been easier if i wasnt sick. ive been told i use equal sides of my brain. i hope to keep it that way

Cover the right part of the screen up with your hand and make sure you could only see part of the first letter in every word so you can name off the colours easily.
If you do not see through the eyes of one another, is he or she a robot? |

Yeah, pretty much what I do. I don't read the words.. I just see the colour and say it. Or the other way around--I look at the word and ignore the colour, they do that too. In fact I think I did one once where it went back and forth between those two and, it was really annoying. lol

Yeh, I have Brain Age, too. After quite a few of these, you'll be able to focus which side of the brain you want to work. They're still fun, either way.
