Why can't quizmasters agree?

My most recent quiz was returned over the weekend. One of the comments was that I needed to lowercase two words in the title. I did that, fixed some other things, and submitted the quiz again. Today I got it back, with the comment that I needed to capitalize one of the two words I was told to lowercase by the last quizmaster! This is really confusing.

I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

Sometimes a quizmaster can suggest something if another quizmaster made some kind of mistake... we try to be as accurate as we can. Some quizmasters catch things that other quizmasters don't at the time.

It's a funny world we live in. Speaking of funny, do you know how I got these scars?

Mosca, this has happened to me lots of times back in the days I still had the time to submit quizzes! The reason it happens is one QM reviews and it's followed by the second QM, it's not at the same time. Also, the QM who reviewed your quiz earlier might not have had a chance to do so this time. The maximum reviews required may have been reached without that QM.

What I used to do in this case is open a topic here before resubmitting the quiz, and state that I'd received conflicting reviews and would the QMs of that category please tell me what to do? You can open such a topic in the "Ask an Editor / Quizmaster" forum and I think it's the best way to handle the confusion. Gives the QMs a chance to discuss why one feels one way and the other feels otherwise. Finally, you'll be given a solution which won't result in you having to resubmit your quiz yet again.

Hope that helps!

When you receive your quiz review and you resubmit it, it is a good idea to include comments to the QM as to what you changed.
For example, say: As you requested, I made "in the" lowercase in the title.

Then if a different QM sees that, they shouldn't suggest you uppercase them because you obviously make it lowercase at the suggestion of a QM.

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful suggestions. I had already resubmitted the quiz, but it did make it through on the second revision. I'll remember these good suggestions for my next quiz!
