Braingle's quiz making guidelines say:
Quizzes that simply ask people to define a word in any language (including English), are boring and should be avoided.
But I have found a source of old-timey insults (all clean) and they made me laugh. If I made a quiz about essentially matching these insults up with their approximate definition, would people get a kick out of that? I thought people would enjoy learning cryptic ways to insult others without them really understanding what they were being called.
Thanks for your input!
My girlfriend said I had to choose, her or Braingle...man, I'm gonna miss her... |

Could you provide a sample question? Also, what category would this be? Humanities > Linguistics or Other, I'm assuming...
"Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or a politics of hope?" - Barack Obama | "If I have seen farther than others, it is because I was standing on the shoulders of giants." - Isaac Newton | Example of understatement: Smithy is amazing. |

When I was teaching, I always had a day dedicated to Shakespearean insults. It was always a hit! I would love to take a quiz on a topic of "old-timey" insults- they are so much more creative than what we call people today.
