This topic will keep you up-to-date with new openings for Quizmaster positions. If you would like to be notified when an open position arises, please add this topic to your watchlist. I will post in this topic when new Quizmaster positions arise.

Do we know how many people are in Television, entertainment, and Music?
I have had a quiz in all of those and I was wonder about how long I should wait.

I wanted to update this category since it has been a while.
Entertainment has 1 open spot
Geography has 1 open spot
History has 1 open spot and 1 current applicant
Hobbies has 1 open spot and 1 current applicant
Humanities has 1 open spot
Movies has 1 open spot
Music has 1 open spot
Nature has 1 open spot and 1 current applicant
Other has 1 open spot
People has 1 open spot
Religion has 1 open spot
Science has 1 open spot
Sports has 1 open spot
Technology has 2 open spots and 1 current applicant
Television has 1 open spot and 1 current applicant
Now is a great time for new QM applicants, each category has at least 2, in most cases 3, friendly and experienced QMs to help new comers learn "the ropes". I hope to see some new faces in the elections!

shutting up or down has the same meaning, why need the up and down? just keep it shut! |

Hey elephant, good question.
If you go to the "quizmaster" link on the left side of the trivia page, you will be taken to a page detailing the qualifications for applying to be a QM. I'ts been a while for me, but I recall the following
You must be a member of the site for 3 months...maybe 6
You must submit 5 quizzes
You must have a score of 2500? Maybe more, maybe less, can't recall
You must have a quiz creator grade and a quiz corrector grade of at least a B
That is what I seem to remember, once you meet all those qualifications, you can apply. To apply, simply click on one of the categories that has an open spot and write a brief essay about why you should be a QM. When a category has 2 applicants and a week has elapsed, then an election will begin. The election will run for 2 weeks and will end with the appointment of the new QM.

Here are the requirements from the FAQ:
Anyone can become a Quizmaster. Even you! To become a Quizmaster, you must meet a series of pre-requisites:
1. You must be a member of Braingle for 3 months.
2. You must have at least 2 green karma arrows .
3. You must have a score of at least 1,000.
4. You must have written at least 5 quizzes.
5. You must have a Quiz Creator Grade and Quiz Corrector Grade of at least a B
Once you meet all of the above requirements, you are eligible to submit an application when a position comes up for reelection in the category that you are interested in. To submit an application you must write a short essay about why you want to be a Quizmaster. At the appropriate time, an election will be held and the person with the most votes will be declared the winner.

Here is an updated list of available QM positions. Now would be a great time for newcomers to try out for a QM position. The flood of quizzes has slowed, giving ample time to learn the ins and outs of the job!

Duchess is correct. In fact 3 categories: Hobbies, Humanities, and Sports have 3 open spots. What this means is that any quiz submitted to those categories is likely to take at LEAST 2 weeks for each review.
As a former QM in Hobbies, I can vouch that it is a GREAT category to get started in as the number of quizzes submitted is not as numerous as some other categories. This gives new QMs plenty of time to get acclimated to the new job. I hope you will consider it!
