You can download programs that can animate your avatars (GIF), or you can just make a still frame in Microsoft Paint or any similar graphics program.

There are a few programs out there that can make animated avatars. Just a bunch of still images that are changed at a certain time. I use unfreeze to create the GIF. Then you just use Paint.NET or something similar to that to create the still images you wish to use.

I have found Jasc to work well for animation.
Adobe Photoshop works well with sizing and customizing pictures.

I use paintbrush to make my avatars.
Start by going to attributes and setting it to 100x100 pixels,
then I draw a square around that so I know my boundries.
Then fill in the blank... just remember to save as a jpeg.
If you'd like to take a gander at some of the ones I've made
you can visit my wiki... then avatarpage (shortcut at bottom)
Anyone is welcome to use my avatars, all I ask is that you not hack them.
Please use them as is or not at all.

I have exactly 58 points, and I've signed in and signed out about 58 times (a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point), and there is no "Personal Message" or "Signature" box showing up on my Edit Personal blah-blah-blah page.
I am baffled and would greatly appreciate some help.
