That sort of is my point... it would be 41st, not 41th. 40th... yes, not 41th.

I don't know who/what Frasier is, but I do know that there should be a comma after 'Sorry'.

Also, quotation marks should not be represented as apostrophes. Plus, punctuation always goes inside quotations. In addition, using a backslash instead of "or" is improper grammar.

To use a colloquialism, I kicked JQPublic's butt.

The first two are American conventions. In British (i.e. proper ) English, both single and double quotes are used (although nitpickers prefer single quotes). Whether punctuation goes inside or outside quotation marks depends on the situation in British English. Also, exclamation and question marks go outside or inside depending on the situation, even in American English. 'To kick someone's butt' is also an American phrase.

Backward slashes is acceptable in informal situations. If you insist that it is improper, I shall avoid using it as such during the course of LPW4. Furthermore, using 'plus' as a conjunction/connective adverb* should be restricted to informal contexts.

*Your sentence used 'plus' as a connective adverb, although the dictionary lists it is a conjunction.

You don't have to write fancily, JQPublic (i.e. with the "or" instead of the slash) I was just joking around, for everyone was criticizing everyone else.

"Plus" is a preposition, adverb, and conjunction.

So was I.

"Plus" is a preposition, adverb, and conjunction.

I must have caused some confusion with the footnote. What I meant is that 'plus', when it is used as a conjunction to introduce a new clause, or an adverb to connect a sentence to the previous one(s), is usually used in informal situations (at least, this is the way it works according to dictionaries, as I'm not a native speaker).

Always good: There are five buses, plus six cars.
Colloquial: There are too many buses, plus there are lots of cars too.

By the way, in case you're wondering, that slash I added on purpose.
