Should there be a PM limit (to prevent spam)?

Yes, people should only be allowed to send 10 PMs per day.		11

My idea would be this:

Subscribers: Infinite PMs

--Infinite PMs

--40 PMs a day

--20 PMs a day
0--10 PMs a day only to mutual friends

--5 PMs to mutual friends

--No PMs

--No access to PM section

I am leaving Braingle. I'll get on occasionally, but not very much.

Sounds good but I think no karma should be 10 PM's but not just mutual friends

I don't think so.

As Beyonce said, people with nothing should be able to send 10 PMs to anybody.

With kids you spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 15 years telling them to sit down and be quiet.

I don't really know . . . I voted for 30 per day, because sometimes I've had a private conversation with someone and it could go on and on and on.

A sticky is a thread which stays at the top of the forum board. So it's 'stuck' there, hence the name.

Choose Your Path is back, and is better then ever. Take a look at the new system, which will hopefully mean more frequent updates for your stories.

I don't think there should be a PM limit. Say you are moderating a themed TWG or WTB game, and you need to converse with players via PM, then having a limit would restrict you. The karma idea might be a good one, though.

Yeah. I don't think I've ever got spammed, and I've been here for a few years. If someone spams you, you just foe list them. I don't see the need for a PM cap. And there could be some system that if 1 person was foe listed enough it would be brought to the attention of the Moderators, and they can check if the person is spamming or what he/she is doing to get foe listed. If you put the foes and friends lists in a more noticable place, they'll get used more. So, there's no real reason to have a PM cap, unless you have negative Karma points, in which case there could be a smaller limit to the amount of times you have to get foe listed before the mods get alerted, and vise versa for high karma people.

I reckon there should be caps depending on how many of which colour karma arrows they have....

3 Good Karma - Infinite
2 Good Karma - 75 per day
1 Good Karma - 50 per day
0 Karma - 25 per day
1 Bad Karma - 10 per day
2 Bad Karma - 5 per day
3 Bad Karma - 0 per day

I reckon those are fair as the people with 3 good karma arrows deserve them and the people with bad karma deserve them.
