I need to post a picture of my toy poodle Jasper sleeping, but see if you can picture this:

he is missing his front right leg, and he's always (since he was a puppy and had 4 legs) slept on his back, his head turned to the side, and his legs all sprawled out. His 2 back legs just lay to either side, sort of spread eagle, his head will turn to the right, and his front left leg just dangles in the air.

It's the funniest thing ever... and like the typical bed-hogs described above, he will NOT budge. Most dogs, when you nudge them, scoot out of your way. Not Jasper... you can slide him across the bed and he just lays there!

So sorry to hear about Moniques, Snappy. May she rest in peace.

Our brown mouse, Pepper, died yesterday while I was at work. Can't bury her 'cuz the ground is frozen.

Jasper is one smart dog, Pal. Can't wait to see a picture!

what'll you do with pepper Gebbie? I LOVE mice.

I have my 2 little pups with me at work today, causing a general havoc, running into everyone's offices squeaking their toys and wanting everyone to play. Hopefully they're not annoying anyone....

I don't know yet. I bought another young female at the pet store today. It is so cute, looks like a possum in the face... almost. It's very lively and lovable and took to Daisy, the older female, right away.

Would love to eventually get a female rat. They had an adorable one at the pet store.

Gebbie...put miss mousey Pepper in a container ready for burial and pop her in the freezer. Then when ground thaws and you make preparations, you can bury her in a dignified manner *notify next of mouse kin etc*

We have often put our sick fish in a bowl of water in the freezer...a more humane way of helping them pass away...rather than watch them struggle...and then we had the fish burial...

Good Idea Snap!

I wish I was allowed a mouse - no one in my family will let me have one.

i found three mice in the the trash barrel in my basement. they were so cute! but my dad hates them, so i took them out to my barn so my dad wouldnt kill them. ( i just hope my barn cat doesnt get them)

So after, when he whispers, "You love me. Real or not real?" I tell him, "Real".

I used to have a pet rat. We had a boa that sometimes wouldn't eat, so we kept those rats as pets.

New mousey has a name: Nutmeg.

I ran the "pop her [Pepper] in the freezer" by my husband and got the weirdest look.

We had to do the ol' rodent-in-the-freezer thing once.

My daughter was watching her friends gerbil or hamster while her family was outta town for a week. She fed it and gave it water, the next day it was dead, I swear that thing was brought over expired. Anyway we put in the freezer until the family came home, when we broke the news they responded with "oh yeah he was kinda sick"

My advice Gebbie, besides snappy's label, is to double bag it.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up, but on a positive note, they have never asked us to watch their dog.

Omg, having someone's pet die while you're watching them is a nightmare! It hasn't happened to me, and I hope it never does!

Vlerma, you helped me so much with Tiger when she was so sick at the very end and I had to take her to the vets and have her "put to sleep". I'm serious, the things you said to me made a huge difference! I love my cats, I love my BB, but Tiger was really special... She was the most human-like cat I've ever known. She was amazing that way, and she was very affectionate, and expressive! When I came home after being in the hospital for 6 weeks, my sister fed them and visited every day, Tiger "cried" for like 5 mins! She just yowled and yowled, and it was so obvious that it ws because she had missed me and now that I was back, she had all these emotions! So, it was so very hard to have her put to sleep, and I could never have done it if she hadn't be very obviously sick, and, if I hadn't had so much support from Vlerma and all of you!!!

Everyone's puppies and parakeets sound so wonderful! And V, I'm so sorry about your one parakeet!

Beetle, it's so hard to understand how people can discard animals the way they do! I just don't know- What are they thinking? I just don't get it... I've had friends, though, who were like that, and they seemed like normal people, but they just had this completely indifferent attitude towards pets, even though they had them!

Quick story to illustrate: A very good friend of mine, very creative, in NYC, she kept 7 cats in her small apt. She would take cats in from outside, and she loved having all these cats. So, one day she told me that one of them had been itching all the time, and she took it to the vet. The vet gave her ear drops, and told her the cat had ear mites, and to put ear-drops in it's ears twice a day. Then my friend says to me, "So I'm just going to put her outside..." "WHAT?", I asked, shocked. She kept looking in my eyes and then looking away, because I'm sure that she was seeing my dismay at her attitude! "Well", she explained, "I'd have to put DROPS in it's EARS like, EVERY DAY!!!" I told her that I would do it then. I couldn't have cats, but I told her I'd come over every day and put the drops in her cat's ears, because I had done this before. "Well, if you come over and do it, maybe..."

She never called me, because she put the cat outside to fend for itself later that day.

Life... can be so many things... how can anyone ever think they are RIGHT? HAhahahahahahaha!!!!!
