Hope you feel better Shawn! IO is right, lots of warm fluids and something like BenGay or Mentholatum. Helps me!

I went and looked up the article and I'm keeping an eye on it. I am so curious as to what is going on...it's such a mystery!

Thanks tonja! What a wonderful thing to log-on to this site and scroll down a topic and see posts wishing me well! It doesn't happen on any other site, and doesn't even happen that much in RL!

Yes, the Conversion Hysteria or whatever they call it is a mystery, and what is so frustrating to me is that shows like Anderson Cooper, which I rarely watch, have a whole show with the affected girls and their families, medical experts, etc., and then it's never mentioned on the show again! Same with the major channel's news shows. It's like, Yeah, we covered that, it's over, we squeezed it dry... onto the next big thing.

edit: OK, I just read Bobbi's post in the Current Events forum, and I had no idea that the story had been covered daily in Buffalo, near where it's happening. That throws a new light on it... although it's still a mystery.

Well, heck, this place ha'n't been used in a wee long time, eh?

Wake up, you lazy bones, it's Old St. Patrick's Day!

Cel'brate the Irish if y'are, and cel'brate the cheer if y'aint,

Be merry, just 'member not to drive when ye can't,

All be green and thriving

On Old St. Patty's Day!

And if you chance on not displaying green,

You get a pinch where there's no sun to be seen,

On Old St. Patty's Day!

Terrible, but you get the message. A happy day to all.

Couldn't have said it better myself, LR. Hoping everyone had a Happy St. Patty's Day. I used to have a pin that said, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish." And underneath it said, "Yeah right, just kiss me." On St. Pat's Day you can get all kinds of kisses!

och, are ye Irish then, LR? I am tooooo! That was a hilarious poem you wrote in the "Irish Language". I wore a bit o' green, but didn't do much else to celebrate. I gotta be careful... seein' all my Irish brothers and sisters out drinkin' and carousin' could lead me to the Devil!

It's so good to see YOU, Vlerma! I was starting to worry that I hadn't seen you post in a while.

So I just had a guy come to my door, knock, I spoke to him through the window, and he told me he was from PECO, our electric co., and he needed to see my bill because they were checking to make sure people had got the right discount on their bill. I kept asking ?s and finally I told him I would NOT show him my bill.

Then I looked up PECO online and they had a thing that said that they NEVER need to see your bill at home, and never to show it to someone claiming to be from them because they were NOT from PECO! So I called the police and told them. It could have been a competing energy company trying to get people to switch to a different provider, or could have been more malicious. In any case, there's lots of info on the bill, like the acct. no., and they can use that for... BAD.

I hope nobody else gave him their bill, but, I didn't see anyone yet on our block that I could ask if they got a visit from the scammer.

Maybe these will help with the cheerleading?

Oh my goodness Grayma, it is so good to hear from you! So glad to have you back.

Snappy, good luck to Mr. Snappy.

Has anyone heard of the boy band One Direction? I spent 3 hours at the Mall of America today so my daughter and her friends could see them. It was very LOUD !!!

So many of my friends are obsessed. In fact, one of them was in Minneapolis this weekend, and even though she had no idea One Direction was going to be there, she was at the right place at the right time and got to see them.

I don't understand their obsession.

I hope Mr. Shappy did/does well on his big bike ride!!!

Hello Family, how is everyone? I'm OK... having tons of trouble with my lower back/hip/thigh... when it acts up, always out-of-the-blue, I really can NOT walk for a time! It happens on the street all the time and I feel like such an idiot sometimes! I've found that if I stop, and then start walking extremely slowly, that usually I can walk normally again... but, it usually happens again in a few mins.

Sorry to be talking about my health lately! I don't wanna be one of these OLD people who are always complaining about their health. It's just that I had a flu/cold which is rare for me, and now I have this degenerative joint disease acting up again, also something that only attacks now and then... rawr!

Shawn... I know where you are coming from. OLD people really aren't complaining about their health... just warning the younger folks to take care of themselves! LOL...

I had to crawl under a house today to complete the job I was hired to do... ended up crawling under there three times. Got the work done... felt tired, went home. Once home, I grabbed a beer and went on my front porch to enjoy its calming effect. (Ok... I cheated, I took two beers... it was a tough day). Once they were done, I started to stand up and fell back into my chair. Ouch... oh yeah, ouch. My lower back, my neck, my arms... the pain was there. I did get up... took a nice hot shower and was better. But you know what I mean... the muscles just don't let you forget you should have exercised them more! And we have a new dog in our family now... and he wanted to play with me and his toys. Dogs just do not understand our situations when we have a busy day... so I played with him.

Sometime later tonight, I will try and get up and out of my office chair and see if I can get some sleep. It's getting out of this dang chair I am worried about right now!

Hi.

I'm on Braingle far too long, I stay on the computer from dusk to dawn. Playing games and chatting with friends, the novelity of it never ends.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, I like that RGW! I hope you got out of chair at some point!

4wheels, you don't sound like YOU are complaining! That's how I was when I first came on Braingle too! I'm really glad to know that people still enjoy it so much!

Guess that everyone is busy with Easter...

I was at the shops the other day and upon leaving the shop I wished the employee a Happy Easter!
Not being religious or anything, just saying it as part of the season kind of...and she said "I am Muslim!"

To which I chimed happily, oh well, have a happy holiday break!

And much later on I thought...was she offended? Why couldn't she just say thanks? Why must it be a federal
issue that I am wishing her a Happy Easter. Why couldn't she just say 'thanks' and leave it at that?
Why must I feel like I should apologize for wishing her Happy anything?

I don't know. Ithink as a society we have lost the ability to just be NICE to each other. To accept the
differences people have and believe in, and to just get along with each other.

Why couldn't she just say "thanks".

BUT YES we had a lovely Easter. Just the family around the dinner table, enjoying what we have.

Good, snap, and thanks Harry, and Happy Easter to everyone, even if you are not Christian! Yes, I went there!

I agree, Snap. It's like, many of the holidays come at the same general times... Winter Solstice, Spring Solstice, and so on, so why can't people just translate it for themselves and be grateful that you are wishing them SOMETHING GOOD, instead of thinking that you have to know exactly which religion they are a part of or just ignore them?

I did NOT wish several people, such as the bus driver, a Happy Easter I didn't know if they were Christian, and I didn't want to OFFEND anyone!

So, is it better to just not say anything? Well, I sure don't think so. It made me a bit sad that I didn't feel comfortable wishing anyone a Happy Spring Solstice Celebration... We need to find a way for everyone to be able to wish good things for people without people getting their backs up!
