Oh, Snipe hunting is so much fun. We usually went three or four times every year. Of course out here in the beef state we also liked to take our friends out cow tipping. I know, I know, Larry the Cable Guy, right. No seriously, if you know how to do it right, boom, they go down like a lead weight!
OMG this house isn't big enough for me and what just slithered into my house. My house sits right down on the ground and me grandson mowed the grass tonight. I have the TV on so I'm glancing back and forth from here to it. Something moved on the floor and by the time I realized what it was it had spotted me and headed back the direction it came. But by the time I got around the corner of the entertainment center, I don't know where it went. It wasn't all that big, but I am scared to death of snakes. I am sitting here with my feet almost up on the desk and for a fat old lady, that's kinda hard to do.
I know I would much rather be cow tipping or snipe hunting. Somebody got a bag, I'll go right now!

Aw, poor Grayma! How about I send our cat over to catch it for ya? She's known for catching various animals/bugs that make their way into our house. ;)

I just came back from Washington, DC! It was so much fun, but really tiresome. ): On the first day, we walked about 9 miles. The second day, we walked about 5. The third (and last) day, we only walked about 3. But it got increasingly warmer each day. :\ The last day, the high was 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
It was also my first time taking public transportation. We got to take the Metro every day. On the last day, we took a taxi - also my first time. We only took it about a quarter of a mile (to the Jefferson Memorial) because we didn't want to walk. I was pretty wary since I've seen enough crime dramas to know that serial killers drive taxis.
We were supposed to split up the drive home into two days, but when we set off (at about 10 in the morning) we decided to just drive the entire way in one day, making it there at 2 in the morning the next day. Since I slept for about 4 hours on the trip, I stayed up until 8 in the morning in Braingle chat. It was pretty fun, 2 people stayed with me through the night. (:
And, I suppose that was my week. ((:

Snappy, cow tipping is exactly what it sounds like. You approach a sleeping cow and push it over. Easy.
It's not what you know, it's what people think you know. |

Yeah, I heard that, too. When they get tired, they lay down all by themselves.

This reminds me of the movie Cars. I think a cow could be relaxing. . . . and get tipped over if scared enough.

Kind of the non-fun version of hunting drop bears in Australia - you have to smear any exposed skin in vegemite to avoid having these horrible bears drop out of trees and onto the unsuspecting hikers below... creates quite a stink, I can tell you!

Well I haven't seen Shawneeo around for several days. I suppose he is busy getting all settled into his and BB's new home. We miss you Bud, and hope you can rejoin us really soon. Pictures would be nice too.
I have to mention this because we have had a duel going on for well over a year. Ira Hayes graduated to the retirees in 2nd place in Food Fight. Now in order to beat him I am still going to have to tried to get in one day a higher score because even if you get over 18,000,000,000 if you don't retire you loose anything over that amount and have to start with that again the next day. I have enjoyed our daily battle and will miss him. What makes this little race even more interesting for me is that my daughter, ICU is right behind me and within distance to beat me, along with several other friends. I really would love to beat everyone and retire with the highest score, but time will tell.

I'm right there too, vlerma...it is fun isn't it? I have found some Food Fighters take it way too seriously. It is only a game after all!

Hello everyone, Hello!!!!! Vlerma, thanks so much for missing me! I know you all did, especially my special friends, you know who you are. I just today got my internet hooked up, and I'm in my new apt. I got in here on June 1, after having to wait a month, and then my internet was held up for the SAME previous tenant that wouldn't leave! She didn't pay any bills, and kept the Comcast equipment, so, I had to grope my way to their office and wait in line for a half-hour, to prove I was who I said I was and not this lelinquent woman who screwed up everything for me! Oh well, hopefully I just equalized some bad- karma from a previous lifetime, so that's a good thing.
I'm not used to typing, it's been amonth! My fingers and hands HURT!
Life... can be so many things... how can anyone ever think they are RIGHT? HAhahahahahahaha!!!!! |

Ah, Shawn, so glad to hear from you. Never thought about you having trouble with your Internet hookup. Some people just should never have had kids. Sorry, but when they take such a lack of interest in how their actions affect others, it is really a pain in the tush!
So how is BB adjusting to her new digs? I was thinking about you tonight as I was up late, well, lets just say I haven't been to bet yet, again, and had the TV on. They had some reality show on, can't remember the name of it, but it was about people who write parking tickets in Philadelphia and then the people who have to go around and put the boots on the cars of people who never pay their tickets. One elder gal got very disturbed that she had gotten a ticket for parking by a fire hydrant. She wound up following the gal who was giving tickets all around her beat to make sure that everyone else who was just a little bit guilty of creating a parking violation also got their ticket. $71 for a single parking ticket. Now I see another reason to walk in Philly.
Glad you are getting settled in and now you can start practicing with your fingers again. We have missed you and everyone is getting tired of me being the only one who writes these big long posts!

Yay! It must be so good to be finally settled Shawneeo!
I'd also like to know how BB is doing - and maybe you could offer me some advice? We want to move our kitten's litter tray to the other side of the house - what's the risk of her forgetting where it is and having an accident, and how can we prevent this??
I'm going ok - still feeling very sore and stiff, but trying to keep moving. Some days are better than others (unfortunately I think today is one of the baddd days - just not feeling very great!) but I keep pushing myself!

That's good, Beetle, that you keep pushing! I know you'll be totally normal in no time.
BB has adjusted extremely well! She is very old, for a cat, and she sleeps a LOT. But, as far as adjusting she's really done so well! I'm so proud of her. She hobbles around now, though, like she has arthritis and her front legs are hurting her.
Well, as for the litter, I've moved the box a few times, and I never had any problem! I'm always amazed at how well they seem to just "know" where things are. But, just to be sure, I always pick them up, carry them to the box, and put them down next to it or in it, and then I take their paw and scratch it around in the litter for them... LOL! The poor cat! She's probably wondering what the heck I'm doing! But, I've never had a problem.
If you're moving it far, I'd say to maybe do a half-way move or two... that way, the cat can tell where it is from where it used to be by smelling it. Although, maybe that would be too many changes. Good luck!
And thanks so much, V and Beetle, for asking about my Little BB and me!
