I'm trying to solve (or simplify) ching's inequality in her signature.
EDIT: i < 3u
- OR -
i / u < 3
- OR -
3u / i < 0
Therefore, i cannot equal 0.
Multiply both sides by 1 / u to make 3 / i < 0.
Then multiply both sides by 1 / 3 to make 1 / i < 0.
Then raise both sides to the (-1) power to make i < 0.
That's the answer: i < 0.
And since i < 0, then u < 0 too, since 3(1) / (-1) is not > 0.
So in interval notation, i can be written as (-∞, 0) and so can u.  I'm a math nerd.
