Question #1 any cool talents?
You mean besides play piano? mm I have a pretty good knack for memorising stuff if I feel like it, I can cook, I can sing, I can do three things at once while driving, and clean a room in five minutes without truly moving anything. But I call those skills rather than talents. My true, ingrown, born-with-it talent is probably language mastery and music.

#2 what's your favorite book?
The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy. I wrote a quiz on it here. But I also get really into short stories, especially ones by D.H. Lawrence and O. Henry.

#3 favorite piece of junk food
Sad, but probably marshmallows. A. because they're around the house all the time. B. because ice cream is not. C. because honey wheat braids and ginger snaps should definitely be considered health food...

#4 favorite color
White. People hate me when I say that. haha

#5 are you a fan of Pirates Of The Caribbean? ( just the first 3 ).
mm, I wouldn't say a hugely dedicated fan, but I get entertainment out of the films, yes. Primarily because of Jack Sparrow. Haven't seen the fourth film, though, so good call.

I guess I'll pile on some questions since Ching must be feeling lonely and abandoned.

1) Yeah list every single one. How many states/provinces have you been to, landing in an airport for a connecting flight doesnt count

2) Canadiens.... can you believe those guys sometimes?!

3) I decided the theme of these questions is travel, be honest, what is your impression of New Jersey, cause I think we get a bad rap yo

4) You're gonna be on of the those pretentious people 22-24 who needs to 'backpack Europe' aren't you ?

5) The NCAA tournamanet is coming up, other than your boys the Spartans, can you name even one other team who will be in it. You can't say Ohio State either cause that's kind of cheap

1. What did you always hope your nickname would be?
Mj. Always wanted to be called Mj. Even pursued it at camp in seventh grade. It stuck for one person. It never really took off. haha On Braingle, I don't care. I've been called everything under the sun here.

2. Have you ever slept with your eyes open?
Actually, yes. Before I started driving, my mother warned me about falling asleep at the wheel without actually sleeping. Losing consciousness with your eyes open. First time it happened, it was surreal. haha And slightly scary, but I knew what was wrong with me so I was okay. haha

3. Have you ever experienced any miracles?
The romantic in me says "every day", but nothing you'd probably consider a miracle. There was a time I was pressed for money and knew I'd have some expenses coming I wasn't prepared to take care of, but somehow, I'd get just enough work or just enough money to take care of them. Right on time and down to the dollar. I call those miracles.

4. If you were trapped in a 4ft x 4ft x 4ft room, would you just wish for a chair?
Depends on what you mean by "just". If you mean I only have the one wish, of course not. Even if I only get the one wish and can't wish to get out, I'd rather wish for like a blanket. Folded, it serves as a cushion. Spread, it helps with warmth. You can get really creative. haha

5. If you were trapped in that room for a period of 2 days, and you had to bring in 1 person and 2 handheld objects what would they be?
Oh... snap. My sister. She's one of the few people I could stand for that amount of time in a small space like that and she's really good for the attitude. I like and usually need her perspective.
As for objects... a jar of peanut butter and copy of Plato's Republic or even a book of poetry or short stories. I'd ask for a music player, but my sister and I have VERY different tastes in music. haha We'd probably sing half the time anyway.

I'll be back later on to deal with those other questions. I have a previous engagement.

I'm guessing my answer wasn't in kind with your direction.
Nah, I've been okay. Over here. By myself. Doing nothing. All alone...

1) Yeah list every single one. How many states/provinces have you been to, landing in an airport for a connecting flight doesnt count
kk Ready? Michigan. Indiana. Illinois. Ohio. Pennsylvania. Maryland. West Virginia. Kentucky. Tennessee. Georgia. Washington. Ontario. California (but... not really California; I was either unborn or newborn).
I've not been to many places, but I can usually remember how to get to places I've been. Navigation skills are pretty sharp. Not exactly well travelled, here, but I WILL get there.

2) Canadiens.... can you believe those guys sometimes?!
Canadians aren't that bad once you get to know them and get past their sense of aloofness to Americanos. It's those New Jersey cats you have to look out for.

3) I decided the theme of these questions is travel, be honest, what is your impression of New Jersey, cause I think we get a bad rap yo
My initial, vague impression of New Jersey was that it was pretty higher-end, suburban territory. And it's always enjoyable to poke fun at all the outrageousness "Joisey" is thought to be. But you know. I get the feeling it's pretty much like Michigan. Minus the rural areas and the trees and the fields and the rolling hills and the temperamental weather and the apple blossoms, and Detroit.

4) You're gonna be on of the those pretentious people 22-24 who needs to 'backpack Europe' aren't you ?
I hope so.
Race you down the Seine. ;)

5) The NCAA tournamanet is coming up, other than your boys the Spartans, can you name even one other team who will be in it. You can't say Ohio State either cause that's kind of cheap
Penn State Nittany Lions. If I know any other teams in basketball other than Michigan State, it's Penn State. I actually know their women's volleyball better, but we're talking bball, so if you're gonna stick me, that's the next go-to. Purdue Boilermakers (lol), Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Indiana Hoosiers, Duke Blue Devils. I'll not dig up more, but you get that I get it, right?

___
2. Will you answer question 3?
Yep
3. Did you not answer question 1?
You know it.
4. What was the best vacation you ever took?
I like them every year. Vacation is what you make out of it. For me, it was probably one of the years we went north to my grandparents' cabin near the beach. (one of the Great Lakes) Last year may have been the best, to be honest. We did so much stuff, I can't even tell you here without boring everyone to death. You have to do it, not read about it.
A great vacation for me is about a week centred around maybe one or two events to easily prepare for (such as a 5K or a canoe race or family gathering, what have you), a place to yourself (that you still have to maintain for that week - vacation isn't as stimulating without a little everyday work), in a place where the potential for finding things to do and try out is enormously prolific.

5. Where are you going next summer?
You mean this summer? I'm not sure. For a family vacation, my father said something about Disneyworld, which, I gotta be honest, never thought would happen in my lifetime. haha We'll see. I'd like to take my own trip, though, down through Pennsylvania, through the Carolinas, the East Coast, New England. Just driving with a rough idea of where I'd like to go and what I'd like to see there. Mostly people; friends I haven't seen for a long time.

haha Thanks. I try my best.

1) Should the chance ever present itself, would you ever migrate to the Moon?
Depends on who's going with me. Probably not. Can't imagine the social atmosphere would be as dense up there, let alone the physical one. But it would be nice to weigh eight pounds, right?
I've pretty much decided by this point that my life revolves around people. haha You should find that apparent in my answers by now.

2) Which of the sciences most stirs your fancy? (And why!)
I liked science in school, but my favourite was chemistry. I'm not even sure why. A close second might have been astronomy, but everybody likes that. Just please give me anything but botany. (sooo boooringggg)

3) If for some reason you could never touch a piano or other keyboard again, what musical instrument would you play?
Easily the violin. I originally wanted the violin. My best friend played it (he's now an extremely skilled professional out in the field), I wanted to play it, and to this day, I consider the sounds of the violin to be among the most beautiful melodic tones in the world.
I was given piano lessons instead. We inherited a piano from my great grandmother, which saved us the cost of the instrument, I wouldn't have to change instrument sizes as I grew, and we were able to get piano lessons from the pastor's wife for much cheaper. I simply never stopped playing.

4) What is your favorite kind of visual art?
Quite a close contest between Realistic and Impressionistic painting. Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, and a newly found John Singer Sargent are some of my favourites. Although Alexandre-Evariste Fragonard will always have a special place in my heart.

5) What area of Public Relations would you most like to specialize in?
Primarily media and consumer relations. I had intended to pick a field that would require a somewhat diverse skill base. Advertising requires a little bit of an idealistic, artistic brain; the consumer relations requires some communication and negotiation. There's a little bit of administration in that position, but not a ton of it. I'd just like to be really good at whatever I end up doing, hence why I'm pursuing Public Relations/Communications. It's a natural bent of mine.
As for the kind of organisation I'd like to work for, I have no idea. But I promise, if political campaign advertisement is ahead of me, the commercials will be nice. haha

...as for objects... a jar of peanut butter...

I want a recall on this. I changed my mind. The same weight in cream cheese would be infinitely better. Maintain protein and the taste isn't overwhelming. Peanut butter would just make us thirsty and torture us that way.

Penn State is horrible, and barring a long long shot Big Ten Tournament championship they will be no where near the NCAA tournament. The other 4 are correct though ...but dont pretend you could dig up more

Let me think of some more brainbusters, genius

1) Let's go back to the games for a little bit here little lady. 15 player and 20 player game, you see You Are a Werewolf. Who are you hoping got the same message?

2) Unless you think you divulge too many secrets , how would you describe your wolf strategy or temperament.

3) I'm like 8 and 0 against you in chess, is there any chance, unless you get me good and drunk, that that 0 will ever change? There's always Checkers?

4) Super Soakers or Domino Rally...yo you should have seen the courses we set up with those things haha.

5) Which of these words is most apt to describe you: Snooty, Obnoxious, Chumpy

Well excuse me. I couldn't not mention them at least.
NC Tar Heels, U-Conn Huskies, Davidson Wildcats...

Let me think of some more brainbusters, genius

You can try.

1) Let's go back to the games for a little bit here little lady. 15 player and 20 player game, you see You Are a Werewolf. Who are you hoping got the same message?
You. Celt and CC. You are highly involved and good at being a werewolf, not to mention you read me well and it's dangerous (however thrilling) not to have you on my side. Celt is the blend-in wolf that shouldn't get shot right away and you can't have all big-time active players in a ww group. CC because she's a smart player and can usually slip under the radar. I'd say Putter, but he confuses me in game, wolf partners or not.

2) Unless you think you divulge too many secrets , how would you describe your wolf strategy or temperament.
Nah, your last question was okay. Don't push it, though.
I honestly don't know. I try to stay balanced, but I tend to be more aggressive in all my roles.

3) I'm like 8 and 0 against you in chess, is there any chance, unless you get me good and drunk, that that 0 will ever change? There's always Checkers?
It most certainly will. I'm planning to go into Russia and learn all the secrets of a grandmaster, then get us lost on some desert island where you're forced to play me until I decidedly beat you.
Then we can worry about checkers.

4) Super Soakers or Domino Rally...yo you should have seen the courses we set up with those things haha.
Up to you, but my inclination is toward Super Soakers. I'm pretty impatient, so bursts of high energy running around shooting people with water at a high enough velocity to sting appeals a little more than Dominos. It's fun to kick off the falling with that one, so the payoff is extremely sweet.
The one thing that truly puts Super Soakers up against Dominoes is this: there's an opportunity to win.

5) Which of these words is most apt to describe you: Snooty, Obnoxious, Chumpy
Snooty. I know I'm a snob and I hold some pride in it, too. Might as well embrace it and make something of it. If it's a problem for you, well, then. Sounds like your problem. Obnoxious I most certainly am not.... . . .
I'm only chumpy when I feel like being a chump.

1) What writing utensil best captures your personality?
Probably one of those multi-tipped, multi-coloured pens we used to use in the fifth grade. You know, the obnoxiously thick ones with all the coloured tabs at the top that let you choose a colour? It's resourceful, colourful, adaptable, but if you try to use all the colours at once, they're likely to get stuck. haha

2) If your life were to have a theme song, what would it be?
There's a song in my wiki I really like. The Call by Regina Spektor. I like it - I'm bad at goodbyes; don't like to let go of things to gain others. It gives a broader perspective to it all.
Then there's Jack Johnson's Upside Down, which is the embodiment of the kind of childlike, optimistic idealism I like to maintain.
In all reality, the answer to that question changes periodically, but these two have stuck for a while now.

3) Why did the chicken cross the road?
haha If I had a dime for every time I asked this in an interview. I have no creative answers for this. However, others did. Some of my favourites:
Aristotle - To actualize its potential.
Albert Einstein - Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.
Groucho Marx - Chicken? What's all this talk about chicken? Why, I had an uncle who thought he was a chicken. My aunt almost divorced him, but we needed the eggs.

4) What's the last thing you did after which you thought to yourself, "Well, there goes five minutes (or some other period of time) of my life I'll never get back..."?
mmm... that hasn't happened recently, that I can remember. For one, I multitask quite a bit, so no amount of time is completely wasted on anything. haha
It was Bertrand Russell that said "Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted" (or said by John Lennon, but I think he stole it). And I can't say that there've been five minutes I wholly did not enjoy. It's an outlook thing. Optimism conquers a lot.

5) If you could play any role in any movie, what role and movie would you choose?
'k this took a little thinking. haha Aside from any Catherine Zeta-Jones role, which would be redundant, since I already went to town with that one.
Eva Mendes in Hitch. Sara Melas was her name, I think. She was a tabloid columnist, so that doesn't do anything to encourage my interest. haha What does appeal is her stubbornness, her success, and her sharp tongue. She was on top of it, but pretty much normal with a bit of a sense of protective aggression. Her whole character just struck me as something extraordinary, but still humanly approachable.

2) If you won $100 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?

Bring it on.

1) If aliens landed in front of you and, in exchange for anything you desire, offered you any position on their planet, what would you want?
You mean, like, I could trade something like a yo-yo for a position as ambassador to their galaxy? Sounds good to me.
Ambassador would be solid. I'd still get the interaction with humans, but it would be my job to learn to comprehend their ways of life, think like they do, etc, so it would give me that expanded cultural view. haha

2) If you won $100 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
If I had a dime for every time somebody asked me that...
Natural mental deduction for taxes. It's a reflex. haha Minus about $80,000 for my college education.
So with about $50 million, I couldn't live with myself if most of it weren't donated to different causes. Medical research is a good one. Starvation prevention, the list will go on forever. I'd like about $10 million left over, though, to live on, and grant the occasional sum to someone I see in need. Like pick up somebody's doctor bill one day, set somebody up in a new house the next week. Undercover philanthropist.

3) What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
Probably something that happened at work. (I'm a hostess at a Mexican restaurant. Lots of room for humorous goings-on in there. haha) Something really got me going in church this morning, though. A sarcastic comment in the middle of church. Was great, but you'd only get it if you went to my church. haha

4) Quick! What's the 1st wish you'd like to have come true?
Honestly, I'd like to be able to travel wherever I wanted, mostly to meet the people I'd find there. Sometimes a specific person (like some of you Brainglers, here). Like I said, I've basically decided my life will revolve around people. But also travel to taste culture and be that well-travelled person who's experienced almost everything.

5) What's an invention you would most like to have?
Only legitimate answer I've ever come up with for this one is a sort of household anti-microwave that cools things down as fast as it is now possible to heat them up. The freezer works, but it's definitely not a fast process.

Talking. Reading. Anything? haha Talking in the morning. Daydreaming in the afternoon.

2) Do you dream often when you sleep?
Not really. I have one or two recurring ones, but I don't really dream much anymore. I prefer to listen to my sister talk in her sleep and notify her in the morning of everything she said while unconscious.

3) Do you prefer to use pencil or pen?
Pen. Writes smoother and I can go for longer without cramping. I just type most of the time anyway.

4) What is the most uncomfortable article of clothing you own?
Everybody's got that one itchy sweater in the closet, right?
Aside from that, my 4-inch heels give me trouble sometimes.

5) Name a few of your guilty pleasures.
I indulge in chick flicks every once in a while. Same thing with books. I'll read Pride and Prejudice or something just for fun. (yes, I'm one of those chicks.)
Movies late at night when the children are in bed is a guilty pleasure. So are a few of the songs I listen to fairly regularly. haha Def Leppard, for one. And I can get in a lot of trouble if I let myself daydream. I can do that for hours. I stay up too late.
The most guilty I get is either play or broadcast or upload video on our home connection, here. Limited bandwidth split between 5 people - it's a rule that video isn't allowed. Sometimes, however, an exception is made.
