Hello! Do any of y'all play Second Life? I've been on it now and then for about a week. I'm getting too frustrated with not enough reward. I mean, I love the idea, and I love that I can fly or walk around and visit all these different places. But, like, I go to where it says to go to chat... When I get there, there are people all around standing there, but no one is chatting! LOL, it seems like everyone except me is in on some big secret! wah!

I've been dealing with a pretty extreme leg/hip/back thingy. Had to take MRIs and this and that, blah! Haven't found out yet but will this week or Monday if it's as bad as my Doc thinks it could be. I just want to be able to walk normally, and not be in pain.

Aside from that, everything is great!

Life... can be so many things... how can anyone ever think they are RIGHT? HAhahahahahahaha!!!!!

Isn't it funny how some people see life!

You know, there are the optimists and the pessimists, right.
Well I think they look at each day and find something to fulfill their way of thinking.
Pessimists are NEVER going to have a good day, are they?

What made me think of this was a conversation I had with a friend.
She asks me to do her a favour, like make an appointment for her at someplace.{She is not good at speaking English]
The next day, she will say "You didn't make that appointment, did you!"
It sounds as though she expected me NOT to do it so she'd have something to whinge about.

Some times in the past when I didn't have the time to do this favour, she'd ask this way and I'd then feel awful, a disappointment to my friend.
Then I thought about it and next time she asked me the question, I'd tell her should put it in a more positive way.
The way she asks the question, she is EXPECTING me to fail.

And today, a day when the skies are blue, cloudless and 31C [about 80F?], she commented "Well, there aren't ANY clouds! They said it would be cloudy!"

And I thought, isn't it funny how some people see life!

I read it Snappy and it made perfect sense to my open mind. After spending time in the Wrinkle Dorm I have changed my entire way of thinking. I just celebrated a birthday that should have convinced me that I am old enough to go to the Senior Center now and again. But the folks at the Wrinkle Dorm convinced me that I am just a Spring Chicken. However, living alone for this past month, even though my one daughter lives right next door and my grandson comes and goes from his room on the garage, I can easily revert back to being a grumbling old lady.

But then I get on the computer and listen to others problems. and mine seem very minuscule. or optimist or pessimist. it is all in the eye of the beholder, or the nose if you take time to smell the roses. Hope everyone has a great day! Hugs, Grayma V

Oh you do, cool! Well, I'm not playing it much. I know there are cool things to do, NOT the infamous stuff one hears about, but creative things like building things, making clothes, opening a biz, exploring the world (I've done some of that), and writing scripts that I suppose can have your avatar dancing and flying and whatever!

But, I get restless on there, and it takes so long just to change my clothes, or get new hair, that after doing something like that I'm ready to EXIT! However, as far as programming goes, it is a marvel, I mean an absolute MIRACLE, of programming IMHO! I can't even conceive the kind of programming that is taking place to keep that whole world together with thousands of avatars each doing "their own thing".

Hi V! I'm so glad you are here, and glad to see you post! I did wish you a slightly late Happy Birthday, and I hope it was a good one.

Sometimes I think people, @optimist/pessimist, just pick up what their family/friends say, whoever influences them the most, and they really have no idea that they seem negative. They just say the kinds of things they heard others say, and that's that.

It was hilarious tho that your friend, snappy, complained that "they" said it would be cloudy and it wasn't!!!

Oh Shawnee...my 'friend' could be the sour fruit factory! Honestly!

Another thing...you have to stay away from negative people....she is negative and unfortunately related. So I can't get away from her. I see her all the time...almost daily!!!!
However, I do ignore her moods ...to an extent... but it is hard work...hard enough staying positive in my own life, let alone pick up the slack for others!
I also find that with my negative friend....she reponds well to compliments and gifts. So if when I first see her I compliment her on what she is wearing or her hair or ...anything...even if I lie through my teeth....and if I give her a little gift... a cutting of a plant, some fruit, a bargain I got at the shops... anything...then she is happy.
And I listen to the incessant prattle....

Well, it's good you know she's somewhat malleable if you give her "treats"! LOL, like a child or a dog!

No one posted in here since snappy on May 4! That's kind of shocking!

I found out I do not have vascular necrosis of the hip/leg, meaning that the bones don't get enough blood and die... So, it's GREAT that I do NOT have that! yaya!

I seem to have severe arthritis- from tearing and concussion to the right hip joint and related areas, causing pain to spread up and down. That would be from my dancing years, especially Ballet dancing. I knew this kind of thing could happen, but of course I would never have stopped dancing just for that!

So, so far I take one tiny pain pill each morning, and that has been holding the pain at bay. Soon I'll see a "doctor who's title I can never remember but it's for joints and bones, etc.", and hopefully we'll find some solution.
