Shawn... I totally concur with Snappy. You may find you have time to just visit and read and not post... but rest assured you are in our thoughts and prayers. Heal well my friend... we need you back as our running back soon!

My grandpa was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer.
They didn't catch it early enough

So super sorry to hear! Being a grandfather myself, I know that if I was diagnosed with something like that, I would just hope my family would be around me and show me that everyone will be okay with this and just continue to love each other, and yeah, remember me as a fun loving family member. Family is important at a time like this.
We can not change everything that happens to us, but we can take time to show our loved ones that we love them.
My best thoughts are with you and your family as you deal with this!

I'm sorry about your Grandfather, juice, I will add him in my prayers.
I hope everyone here is doing well. I hope you're feeling fine, V, and forgive me if I'm forgetting anyone else who is recovering... (when is one of us NOT recovering from something or other?  )
I got my epidural (blocking shot) last Friday. The doc was very fast and good, and after he started the main shot and I felt some pain, he removed it, gave me another numbing shot, and then when he continued with the epidural I felt no pain at all... yay!
I was floating on air for about two hours. Then, I felt normal, then after a couple days, I started feeling pain again. This was all normal. After feeling some pain for a few days, the blocking shot seemed to have kicked in. I don't have much pain, although I do have some now and then. But, I feel VERY strange. I often have hot flashes, just for the last two days, and I just... just feel so weird some of the time, and I can tell it's from the shot.
The doctor says I shouldn't feel "weird", but,for me that's not unusual. Even when I get a cavity filled with a shot of novacaine, it affects how I feel for the rest of the day. Anything like steroids, or pain killers, numbers (how's that for the medical terminology: pronounced "nummers" ) usually affects my feelings in some way. It's not bad at all, it feels kind of good. I'll be starting the PT in a week. I know the epidural is just temp., like everything else...

Well, the epidural is two weeks old now, and, I do have pain, but it's less than I had before. So, I'm pretty happy with that: if I had no pain at all, it would be hard to accept that it would come back when the shot wore off. This way, it's not such an extreme change but it has given me some relief.
I just bought some gourds and pumpkins, mini sized, today. Love decorating for Fall/Halloween!

Good to hear about your pain. Pain is such an awful thing.
I bought a pumpkin to carve.. I saw this thing on the Martha Stwart website about pumpkin carving. It looked so cute, I thought I'd give it a go.
HOWEVER....
after my experience this week, I think I'll stay away from sharp objects.
I was having a great day gardening. Then I thought I'd go to the shed and get the little saw...and on my way back
my arm hit across a piece of metal sheeting and SLICED into my arm!
Howchewawa! Blood going everywhere! My skin split open like a watermelon....so I go to see Mr Snappy who is exercising in the garage. I scared the **** out of him when I showed him my arm. He drove me straight to emergency and they stitched it up.
Mr Snappy reckons there will be a ward named after me! Hahaha! I think that's funny.
My last 'accident' in July or thereabouts [read previous posts] taught me a few things, so I was able to say what kind of dressing worked best for me.
Anyway, all is well with the arm. Just needs to heal.

Oh my goodness, Snappy, hope you're healing well!
I'm going out to shop and have lunch with my sister and family for my birthday tomorrow. I got some cards and money today, which really was so nice! I don't expect money anymore, most of that stopped when I was 18, so it's wonderful to get it for my birthday at this age.
I hope everyone in my Braingle family is ok, well... let's say I hope you all are GREAT! You all ARE great, so I hope you're feeling GREAT! How's that?

I've missed so much in here! Snappy, hope youa re all recovered! Shawn, I hope you are managing your pain okay. Chronic pain can do weird things to your psyche, so manage it as best you can! Hope the rest of my Braingle family is doing well. I'm missing it here...I hope to be back to more regulare visitations soon!
