Since this is a place of diverse beliefs, I'm just wondering if there are any books (besides holy scripture) or resources which have influenced your spiritual or political beliefs. Please note that this isn't a place for religious or political debate, but critiques of books are certainly welcome.

Share and maybe you can link everyone to the book using resources like Project Gutenberg, e-books Directory, or the Universal Library.

Just ask this question to my brother... He said Pokemon I dont understand him either! I read Derren Brown's Trick Of The Mind book, (absolutely LOVE this bloke!) and it got me thibki.g about a few things. He talks about how mediums "talking" to the dead, and explains how these mediums just throw out random information that can be related to by everyone. People just make the information fit exactly how they want and its basically mediums making money out of vulnerable people which is disgusting. I cant really explain it so itd be best to just look this up also he says about religion, lying and how language can manipulate someone. Its changed my mind about mediums and ghosts and reinforced my beliefs about the Bible (i was Christian but im now atheist). Its a very good book, very entertaining, funny and thought provoking, its a really good read

Two things have definitely made an impact Star Wars (the movies.. I'm not sure if there's a book series) simply because i've more recently found out that "Jediism" is an actual religion under the Canadian Government (Think it was Canada since my friend joined) and I'm not sure whether to be impressed or floored. Yay.. nerd religion? On a completely 'nother religion note there's a book series about wiccan girl who's discovering her powers and while I can't remember the name I got quite into it for a while and even considered the religion. You'd be surprised how traditional they are.

Last book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. This one had me thinking about the gods and older ways a lot. I love the traditions of honouring the gods shown in this book. I wonder if anyone does that any more?

Lookey here, I've got a window sheet!

Umm...*trying to remember* I know what series you're talking about, and I have a book, but I don't remember the name either. Something that starts with S.

...

The series name is Sweep, and the first book is The Book of Shadows. Does that sound familiar?
