Halloween Music/ Scary Songs

Okay, so there's a Halloween shop that's opened up near my college and seeing it sparked the Halloween spirit back into me. (Not that I don't often try to watch Japanese and Korean horror movies all-year-round regardless.)

So, yep. I'm already in the spirit. And first on my list is music. I'm looking to fill up my ipod with some creepy, strange, and classic Halloween, and just generally scary, music. While the classics are great - monster mashes, werewolves from London, and themes of taxidermists - I also want to keep genres I like on my ipod just so I don't get tired of the 1960s or the 1980s.

Thus I'm going to search for songs less well known that are still chilling or have the same spirit but aren't necessarily often on lists. Please help me with songs I haven't heard of or just list your own favourite Halloween/scary music. Anything goes I suppose.

Well theres the "pistol poem" i cant remember who its by, but its basically someone counting "1, 2,3,4" with gunshots going off in the background, its very creepy theres also "mr gravedigger" by david bowie, theres no music, just him singing about a gravedigger he knows, and in the background you hear him walking through a grave yard. Another good on is "bela lugosi's dead" by bauhaus, and its basically an ode to the actor bela lugosi, whos mainly known for playing count dracula in the 1931 film dracula, it uses a lot of good imagery like bats and coffins also there are a few rock version of "this is halloween" from the nightmare before christmas, i think the best ones done by the band lordi

I hope thats helped, i tried to pick more obscure songs that are creepy rather than the same old micheal jacksons "thriller" and songs like the "monster mash". I think halloween can sometimes get a bit boring when the only song playing is "thriller"

Also cgeck out genine victorian music that can be very very creepy yet somehow beautiful and the song gloomy sunday can be quite creepy especially when you know the history bbehind it, my favourite versions by billie holiday

I know that a lot of Evanescence songs are haunting because of her voice, but not necessarily creepy or scary. Still. Though Snow White Queen is kind of creepy.

Sarcastic is the one word that defines me.
